What a day for Mannie yesterday - the highlight of course being his vet visit for a lump between his shoulder blades. It appears that it is a fatty cyst - huge sigh of relief. He also needs a dental, which will be done on 1/11. At that time we will consider removal of the cyst. What was so amazing about his whole trip there was his BG numbers. I had a 97 just before we left, tested his as soon as we got home - got a 60. wow - as stressed as he was he still pulls a 60. :shock: Later that evening I had a phone message from the vet's office - BW was in (that was fast...), and she was so worried: the BG was 58. Just goes to show that they are not used to low numbers. :roll: I was able at the time of his visit to talk to her about how I test, the board, etc - very good visit. We have a 214 this morning - not bad at all considering all that went on yesterday. It is a busy day for me - so.... I hope he picks a nice safe surfing number today. we shall see. (eta: 304 at +2: blech!, and not that safe Mannie....)

Mannie was so happy, cuddly, purry this morning. :-D I was greeted with happy meows this morning - probably because today I was on time, and he didn't have to wait for his slowwwwwwwww bean to get things going - like breffis! Breffis #1, #2, #3 consumed - not a crumb left: his membership in the clean plate club remains intact. :cool: He did fail auto feeder, again... aiyee! :? I shall win that war. nanners have been artfully arranged, slobbered on, chewed, another nap is in progress. Someone had a mild case of hairballitis - which missed the nanner pile, but found this bean's foot instead. :roll: Normalcy in Mannieland.

Hey Mannie, You had such good bg numbers for the vet visit and aftermath. So is it a bounce this morning?? A well deserved bounce. A happy bounce because of good vetty news.

Bouncing today Mannie? After such a nice start! Tess has done the low number thing a couple of times when we had to take her to class w/ us, long car trip, strange surroundings and still low numbers. Go figure! Other times she skyrockets.

Hi Ann - so true on the low number thing - first time he's done that on a trip. no complaints - I'll take those greens wherever and whenever I can get them. Enjoy those naps - I'm sure that they are swell deserved. :-D

Morning Tena - thanks!, and yes - a huge relief. and nice on the trainer. I have an indoor cycle if only because it was what worked at the time. I often wondered if a trainer would be better...

OW! 359 @ +6.5. we seemed to have bounced... aiyee. Well, guess I can go to Seattle without worries, and I hope too that he clears it quickly. :-D

Michelle...hope you had a wonderful time in Seattle with your friends. You deserve it after all the worry about Mannie yesterday. Yuck on the pukus on your foot but I'd rather have it on my foot than my new carpet :lol: :lol: Our house is tile everywhere except the bedrooms and where do they want to upchuck the hairball....on the new carpet :shock: It's like they start hacking and decide to RUN to one of the bedrooms just in time to yack on the carpet :evil:

I bet Mannie will get back on track tonight just in time to keep you up.

Great food and great party last night Mannie!!! It's always so nice to work with the Master!!! I did some chillaxin' today in the sun...spose to rain here tomorrow..brr...maybe I should come to the PNW if it's not raining???

Hi Marjorie - oh yes on the pukus on the carpet. Outs is sorta new - maybe 3 years old - and of course they always leave those little prezzies on the carpet..... never the tiled floors, always the carpet. :?

oh - new labs in for Mannie too. I hope to get those posted in his lab SS before PMPS time...

I have posted new labs for Mannie, from his vet visit yesterday. They can be found in the link below my signature. All were good, and fairly similar to labs from the past. Things that were elevated in the past continue to be elevated: albumin, cholesterol. triglycerides, lipase. The new addition was an elevated CPK. I am uncertain as too how significant this is. I believe (??) this is related to muscle injury, etc (correct me if I am wrong, please). I wonder if this could be related to the cyst aspiration yesterday? The vet did not seem too concerned.

That is a pretty low red...but it is red just the same....Christmas red. Well, we would like to see the Christmas greens again Mannie. So, come on down and hurry up about it!!! :mrgreen:
Maybe if you post on Health you will get some responses to your questions Michelle....you might be lucky enough to hear from a vet tech or someone else who knows all about it...

Here's info on CPK levels:

There is a slight elevation in the Creatine Phosphokinase (CPK) level. This is a very sensitive muscle enzyme test that detects any muscle stress or damage. Over-exercising, trauma, recent injections, excessive muscle trembling or any other form of muscle inflammation can cause this value to be high. Since this is a mild elevation, though the cause is not clear, it is probably not too significant.

Hey Mannie, Are you making up for yesterday's green? Sure looks like it. Michelle, we're glad that Mannie's labs look good and that your vet doesn't see any problems. You both have a good evening and get down to better numbers, Mannie. OK?
