12/15 Jude | AMPS 124; +3 161; PMPS 160; +3 54; +4 64

I'm actually surprised Jude's PMPS is not higher. I've been trying to switch his litter to one that is better for cats with UT issues. Jude LOVES his litter (like, we have multiple boxes, but if the box doesn't have 100% Dr. Elsey's in it, it's not Jude's box). Jude's litter is also a clumping litter, AND he urinates sitting in his litter, which the vet and I think might cause particles to work their way up into his urethra, leading to a lower UTI. Thus the change. So, I've been trying to slowwwwwwwly introduce the new litter (Dr. Elsey's stress reducing, non-clumping) into the box with his other litter. I noticed yesterday that he wasn't going to the box, so I began to get a little worried. Holding his output can cause an FIC flare. When I got home today, his bed was FULL of urine, so I know he's stressed. Tonight, I finally coaxed him to use the new litter, and, poor fella, stood up and urinated (a lot!), instead of his regular sit-in-the-litter position (like, I'll only engage with this substrate at a minimum, ma'am--take it or leave it). A few minutes later he went back and had a BM. I figured his bg would be sky high tonight with all of this stress and with the possibility that he might be having another FIC flare, but to my surprise, it's not too bad. I just hope things don't go any higher. Cross some fingers and paws for us.

Why are cats so complicated!?!

It's always something.

Oh I really hope Jude embraces the new litter so it won’t cause problems for both of you.
