Apparently, Mikey is afraid of Lupita! After I threated that Gracie would send Lupita after him, he decided to go with the green surf. After the world's fastest bounce, he seems to be surfing in blue this morning. Go Mikey! I wish I had gotten some earlier readings, but I went BTB after his morning shot, and slept until almost +4. I think this was due not just to exhaustion, but to having a warm Mikey cuddled up to my head. Between the warmth and his superior softness, I slept the morning away. I did set up a +2 feeding in the timed feeder, and at some point he actually ate it. I'm not sure exactly when he realized that it was open, since I am not locking him up anymore. He begged for his usual +4, so I gave that to him. Now to figure out what to do tomorrow morning. Do I put out 1/4 of a can at +1-ish when I leave for work; do I set up the timed feeder as usual, show it to him, and hope for the best; or do I do some other combination? Mikey, Mikey, Mikey!

I'm also debating what to do tonight. I gave him 1/8 of a can at AM+11.5, but that didn't seem to slow down his dive. I wonder if our little Prima Donna would respond better to having that 1/8 of a can at +.5? We have 1/2 a can to work with at night, although he still needs to put on a bit more weight, so if he gets a little more, it's still ok at this point. What's a bean to do???? Mikey, Mikey, Mikey!

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday! I'm going to take a walk at some point, Must exercise! It's actually sunny here, so I have to take advantage.

looks like he's resolving the bounce fairly quickly - that's a good thing!

all you can do is try the different ideas and see how he does afterwards. Most of the time people give each idea several cycles to try out, but it's up to you.

I'm chuckling at the "SOFTEST FUR" comments. :lol: :lol: :lol:

It also seems like he didn't bounce quite as high. That seems good too.

i agree. this is a pretty good cycle. He didn't do any extreme dive today, and that's good as well.

He's heading back up, but that's what I'd expect at +6. I'd say Mikey is actually being predictable, but since it's unpredictable for him to be predictable, he can't be. :lol:

I opted to feed Mikey at PMPS, +.5 and +1. Who knows what will happen. He's had all is necessary calories for the day, but he still needs to gain, so it's fine if I have to feed him again.

Sunday night are really hard. I get totally stressed out about having to leave Mikey all day on Monday.

Here's what I'm thinking for tomorrow's daytime food. I'd love some feedback. 1/4 can at AMPS. 1/4 can on my way out the door at about +1. These will be the usual 8%, and as long as I show him the dish, he'll eat it. Then, leave 3% in the timed feeder for +2 and +4. I am not going to lock him up with it. I'll just show him it's there. There's a pretty good chance he won't eat it, but it will be there if he wants it. He could use the extra calories. What say you all?

I see that bounce might still have legs. :roll: Good luck with the fuds timing experiments. It might take a while yet to figure out if it's working.

Your plan for tomorrow sounds good. The only other suggestion I've seen people do is leave plates of food around various spots in the house where they think kitty might be hanging out during the day.

Sleep well, looks like Mikey is giving you a chance to catch up on your ZZZ's.

Thanks, Wendy. I've been wondering if this is the same bounce or a new bounce. With RB, it's probably both. :lol: He knows where the food is, but he's such a slug, it's doubtful that he will wake up to eat it! :lol: Maybe I should leave some around, so he doesn't have to go too far!

So much of this is just trial and error. Sounds like a plan worth trying tomorrow.
