Mali’s PMPS seems to be his nadir today. Limited testing today due to work except a pop home in lunch break. Still new here and learning and will do a full curve over the weekend. Have given his current 1.5 u dose tonight and will monitor overnight as best as I can.

He’s been a bit constipated over the last few days, rang vet 2 days ago and they just said to pop a bit of water into his food but doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Belinda, I would call your vet and ask about Miralax (or the Australian equivalent) to see if that's an option. Even a small amount for a couple of days could do the trick. Some people use psyllium husk as well. I know @Fistuk & Shelly has some experience with constipation as well and has used a few different things.
Thank you so much, I will call in the morning and ask vet.

Hi Mali:)
Sorry to hear Belinda is suffering from constipation. It's really not nice for them. It can raise the BG and also lower their appetite.
I really recommend using Miralax for an immediate relief. Yu can get that in a pharmacy without a prescription.
I give Fistuk 1/8tsp of psyllium husk shavings, added to his food. I had to experiment for a while and find the right dose. I know that for some cats here it worked immediately, not for m Fistuk. It took him more time to respond to psyllium husk. I like Miralax bc it brings immediate relief.

I also give some Kefir now which you can try. Others here use Pumpkin. Perhaps @cecile & bella can tell you from her experience with this.

Hops you'll find soon what works for Belinda :bighug:

Thanks Shelly, I don’t think we have Miralax here in Australia but I will go to the pharmacy tomorrow and ask for an equivalent. I asked the vet about pumpkin puree but they said no. Not sure why as I’ve heard that’s fine. Might try some in the morning.

Down all day today, nearly close to midnight. Lowest he has been PM. Think it will be a sleepiness night

Thanks, it’s great to hear it works both ways as he goes both ways. Was on the hills I/d dry for many years before his diagnosis mainly through diarrhoea though.

Bella loves canned green beans, too. I read @tiffmaxee Elise's article and saw that mentionned. I stopped giving that to her when she was diagnosed, but it was like candy to her. Well, she is weird. She also absolutely loves tomatoes.

Not sure my boy would like green beans or tomatoes but thanks for the suggestion if pumpkin doesn’t work! And yes, that does sound weird for a cat but they are all beautifully unique in their own ways
