Just want to keep everyone updated with Benny’s progress and results from today’s glucose curve. I understand his numbers are still quite high but as you can see from earlier in the spreadsheet, these are numbers that are heading in the right direction for him. This is the first at-home curve we have done and we are very interested with the findings and hope talking with Benny’s new specialist we can make some more informed decisions on his care.

Despite his urine ketone strips still showing large ketones, his behavior has been good. Eating well, drinking, and he came anytime I needed to do a glucose check on him because he associates the meter with treats. He is definitely sleepy but we have been at this glucose curve since 4am and testing every two hours so I understand his sleepiness. Tonight will be injection #3 on 2 units of insulin so we aren’t expecting big changes yet but we are relieved he doesn’t seem to be feeling worse. I did a ketone test later this evening and I may just be coping but I felt it was a little less dark purple than the earlier ketone test.

Sending you and Benny lots of good wishes and hoping his ketones come down quickly.
He’s so lucky to have you taking care of him Katie 💖

Not to be a fussy pants, since you’re handling a lot at the moment, but if you get a chance, can you please edit the title to read today’s date and Benny’s name, and perhaps the AMPS and PMPS then glucose curve if it fits. So 12/14 Benny AMPS 371, PMPS 334 Glucose Curve. And give sweet Benny a few bum pats from me.
