Gave Dolly few bites of 12% FF@+2 and a few bites @+3. She just has lc now to graze on but she's not eating. She did eat pretty well this morning. I am wondering if what Boohma said regarding holding out for mc/hc, I guess it's possible. :cat: Changed her litter and she is not using the litter box, actually she almost never does during the day, but I am still concerned. Too much to explain. She's just off again, quiet and my great grandson is here, she's not a really friendly cat with people she does not see very often. :eek:
 
Hi Adrienne! I think Ruby also holds out for her HC food, which is somewhere around 30% carb but it's the only thing I can get her to eat when her numbers are low. When I put out LC after that, she sticks her head into the microchip bowl, the door opens, and she's always super disappointed to find no HC. She gets very stubborn and finicky about eating, especially when she's low and I really need her to do so. I've taken to putting the bowl in front of her and making her sniff it a bit no matter where she is in the house if I need her to eat--the living room couch, the bed, the middle of the kitchen floor. Sometimes bringing the food right up to her nose stimulates her appetite and she will eat, or else I take a little bit of the gravy on my finger and rub it on her jaw for her to lick up and then she decides she likes it and will go for it on her own.

Hi Katherine, thanks for responding. Dolly is a Social eater so I sit with her while she eats. She also is totally stuffed up and can't smell her food. I don't remember if I told you that she has chronic sinusitis. We have been through many, many meds over the last 7 years with no positive results. She is just off today as well as last night. She is in her bed (s) and doesn't really want to be bothered. It worries me. I got her to eat by putting a dab, (a few), of 11% FF on top of her lc food a few minutes ago. I know her numbers may go up but I needed to do something. I have made bad choices in the past but I am trying to do my best to make her happy and healthy. She is also a grazer and has not been doing that. Thanks again for your support.

Dolly is a social eater. She also has chronic sinusitis and often can't smell her food. I finally decided to add a few dabs of 11% FF on top of her lc, she finally ate quite a bit for her at one sitting, she is also a grazer. I knew there may be consequences, elevated BG, from doing this. She was 75@+6.25 - 97@+9. She has been very lethargic all day. She is peeing & pooping fine (with the exception of trying new litter, 2 different kinds) in the hopes of finding one that won't make her sinuses worse from dust. Does not adapt well to change. We are back to her 100% dust free, dusty litter until I can figure out what is going on with her in general. She is alert, purring, wagging her tail but just wants to be in her bed.

Poor Dolly always gets the bowl in the face. Last night it was 4 bowls with 4 different flavors all sprinkled with FortiFlora. :eek:
 
Ate, used the litter box, looks like my Dolly girl again:D Need to walk that back. She is still not right. Eating, drinking, litter box, but still very lethargic. I probably should have given her those antibiotics but I didn’t like the side affects and the vet said it might not be the right one. She’s got a hum when she breathes and she looks so unhappy. Itchy and I will see how things look in the morning. I know I talk too much. :rolleyes: Goodnight :)
