I know the general thought is to stall so you are shooting a rising number so hold off on the food until someone can help with dose. I'm new but I'll bump .

Kathy's right -- if you're stalling, you don't want to feed because you won't know if the next numbers are influenced by food. Re-test in 20 - 30 min.

This post on dealing with low pre-shot numbers is worth hanging on to.

You might want to change the color of your pre-shot # from today to green.

Have you read the sickey on shooting low numbers? I have it in my toolbar so I can access it quickly to review. Have you retested? You'll want to do it every 15 or so in order to shoot as soon as the number starts to go up so the shed doesn't empty. As for what you shoot I can't say. If you can fix your readings in your SS you highlighted your amps as blue it's easier for people who help us to be able to see the trend. Khan earned a green amps :mrgreen:

yes read and reread the " how to shoot low numbers" Mr tinkles has been watching me and helping me for some time now. So it is why I have not fed - I'm waiting to see the number go up however it is at 60 now.. using a Relion meter

maybe we're coming up??? hope so.. Khan is really vocal and wants to eat.. he is a cat set on his schedule. All the cats are waiting to be fed. If I feed one and not any others there will be a whole lot of meowing going on.

No I leave for work at 750 at the latest and there is a blizzard happening right now in the midwest.. so don't know what tomorrow is going to bring

I have HC food, I bought strips yesterday and should of bought the 50 but bought the 20 so I'm down to 17 strips so good for a while yet. Weather is bad here so I can't just run out either and get some.. I'm kick'n myself since I thought I'd be ok through tomorrow with the number of strips I had since I wasn't done with the 50 containter yet.. had a good 10 left.

I'd call it a fur shot and skip. There's no way to know if you'll be stuck tomorrow and you're way off schedule for your AM shot. Save a strip and shoot tonight at your usual time.

Also, Murphy's Law always prevails. If you don't have a stockpile of strips, that's when you'll need time!

Yup - I'm in Chicago. I suspect you're getting worse weather than we are but you never know!
 
I am always stressing over strips... you never know when you will need them and I have been very low a couple times and had to run out for more, so now I try to keep a stock pile.
Sometimes I get the feeling that the cats check our stock and then decide to do crazy stuff when we are low.... I wouldn't put it past them ... cats are sneaky!

I agree with Sienne, I would skip the shot then, Jenee. You're way off schedule, he's still low, not rising yet. You have terrible weather so you can't just run out for more strips either. Go ahead and feed.
 
that is funny.. I try to make sure I have enough back up-emergency box only but low on funds-had to order car parts so I will skip his shot and feed him.

yup khan is hungry, I stashed his food up and the other cat Gracie got at it! stinker! meow meow meow.. that is all she is doing.. trying real hard to get up on the shelf to get that savory salmon!

Weather is aweful.. real deep, blowing hard, real cold. Not going to church or out of this house unless I absolutely have to. Car needs a fuel injector so murphy's law would leave me stranded up on the highway. LOL.

I'll wait until +15 and see where Khan number falls.. just out of curiosity.. then feed him. He is mad.. wants food
 
I am doing the same today for Oliver - skipped shot - and I will still test at +15, +18, +21 just to see how he's doing running just on his shed.
It may not look very different, but the shot tonite will be going to refilling the shed again.

Ate FFSavory Salmon 1/2 can at +15. chill'n now.

Poop fine, pee fine. Not scratching! Last night was going nuts on scratching. Indicates to me he is allergic to chicken bcuz I switch from Beef to chicken and now scratching even worse. With Salmon- no scratching. so soon I'll have to try the EVO canned venison or duck .. I'm going to guess but I'll try.. he will be allergic to the duck too being it is poultry.. but I'll try
 
Jenee, are you still feeding the EVO dry at all? I know that was one variable that you thought might be causing problems, that's why I ask. You're doing the right thing, eliminating what seems to cause symptoms. I wish it was one simple thing, but keep doing what you're doing, you'll get it figured out!

His numbers will be higher tonight, but don't increase the dose, ok? He may bounce from the lower numbers on top of no shot this morning so he may be high, but it will be temporary. Just shoot the 1.0u and his numbers will come back down, it just may take a few cycles to get back on track.

He's looking really good overall, Jenee! Hang in there. :smile:
