Hopefully she's done bouncing or the new vial of insulin will make a difference or something. It was pretty old! My vet told me to just keep using it until it was empty if it looked fine. It looked fine, but I did drop it and dent the seal a few days ago, so I thought I would get a new one. Hoping she'll stay out of the pinks and let me sleep. I don't know about anyone else, but a timed feeder doesn't help at all for me. She still comes and smacks the crap out of me and then doesn't like eating from the feeder. cats!
 
Cats indeed! I hope she does let you sleep; humans are much better caretakers when we get our rest, Snits. Wishing her a safe surf.

Definitely! I'm finding that while vets have a broad range of knowledge unless you're working with a specialist in diabetic cats, their knowledge is pretty limited on this. Dropping the vial definitely didn't help either. I feel so guilty. In my head I was like well if it looks good it is good. Lesson learned!

Actually, from what I read on here, shaking or bumping (or dropping) the vial shouldn't cause problems (they used to think that it did, but then they discovered Lantus is pretty resilient). I use vials, too, and I try not to go too far past two months. I know that many on here go further, but I have frequent problems with Jude shooting up (for reasons not completely known), so I try to eliminate any and all variables such as a stale vial. Have you ever seen the little vial protectors? I like them because I'm VERY clutzy and drop things a lot.

Oh no I hadn't! I'll order some tonight I need repurchase her probiotics and cosequin anyways. See that makes sense! She's never been on insulin for longer than a month but I think this time it will take her longer to go into remission if she does. I'll be sure to toss this new one at the 2 month mark if I start seeing weird spikes for no reason. I'm going to talk to my vet about doing a dental on her beforehand because I have a sneaking suspicion it's either her teeth or the solensia that caused her to relapse. I noticed yesterday her one tooth has declined SUPER fast within the last year. I know a wet food diet can do that. Thanks for the tip.
