Nice low pre-shot for the PM. He has a habit of climbing pretty fast after pre-shot so I went ahead and shot. Too bad I was not home today to test and see how he did.
you'll want to keep monitoring until he passes his nadir and starts back up. if he goes under 80ish or so, you might want to move to testing every 30 minutes.
you don't actually need to intervene with high carbs until he goes below 50.
if he does go below 50, pop open a can of the high carb cat food with gravy, squeeze out just a teaspoon of the gravy only and watch him snarf it down. then you wait 20-30 minutes, test.
if he's still under 50, repeat with a tsp of gravy. if he's over 50, wait another 30 minutes and retest.
lather rinse repeat.
you want to only give the gravy so that he remains willing to eat. giving some LC sometimes will help them surf - so that is an option if you know he'll be willing to eat if you need him to.
your solution of mixing some with water is a great one.
Still floating in the blues but coming back down. I'm not sure if I should stay up with him or if I can sleep for a few hours and then test or maybe give him some regular food and go to bed? Any suggestions?
