12/11 PurrFace UPDATE

purrFace has been doing real good the past few days. The red numbers on the 9th were due to the HC DW put out for him when she took me to the ER. He might be visiting the Lagoon today, judging from his low blue AMPS. Fingers crossed that he stays in the safe numbers.

Will try to get to some condos this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great day.

PurrFace started to drop nicely at +2. Checked him at +2.75 - he's at 68 so gave him 2tsp 22%HC with honey. He only 1tsp and threw it up 10-15 minutes later. Thought the honey mightbe too sweet so gave him 1tsp 20% HC without honey he was at 63 @+3.5. He wouldn't eat it so put Karo on gums. Tested him @+3.75 and he was 70. Feed him but he wouldn't eat any of it. He just was in a meatloaf position staring into space. Pretty sure the 70 was a Karo spike so took him to vet. His temperature, pulse rate and heart beat are all good but even the vet and tech noticed there was something off with him. He's at the vets's now on a glucose drip. Hopefully we can bring him home tonight.

This has been a very trying week for DW. I just got out of the hospital last night and now PF is in the danger zone again.

Oh no. Healing vines for PF and for you John. I had no idea that you were in the hospital as well. Please know that I will be watching and praying for your family.

Piling on even more healing vines for both you John and for Purrface. I hope the vet can get to the bottom of what's making him not eat and feel unwell.

We have PurrFace home. He still has the catheter in his leg and goes back to vet at 8:30 tomorrow morning. We're fortunate to have an understanding vet. He closes his office at noon (+4) on Wednesdays but told us to bring him in. He stayed there for bit over 4 hours with PF. This incident was very similar to the one 3 weeks ago. He ate his 2 breakfasts and even was playing then started the non-stopping drop, quit eating and threw up. He dropped from the Karo induced 70 to a 44 during the 3 mile drive to the vet. He was on a regular glucose drip for about 3 hours and the on just fluids for about an hour. No insulin tonight unless he decides to go way up in the 400s. Will make a decision on what dosage to put him tomorrow after returning from vet.

OT: I was in the hospital with Diverticulitis for 3 days. Gave me morphine for pain and I had a negative reaction to that immediately. On the mend now...slow but sure.

Hi john - oh WOW on all. I so hope you feel better! And Purrface.... you certainly are on a mission. Sorry for those drops. Know them well, Mannie was a master of them. Good luck with the new dose.

Curious of my around? My! I'm waiting with GorGor at the vets for his frequent urination issue since this morning. Should be nothing serious.
 
OK, no more nuts for you! I'm so sorry to hear about you being sick :cry: I'm glad you are on the mend and hope there's no more of those events in your future.

I hope PurrFace is getting better today while he's at the vet and i hope he gets to come home all well tonite.

I think you and PurrFace will have to give Donna breffis in bed with lots of snuggles when you both feel well. She must have had one frayed nerve left with both her boys being sick.
