anya is determined to sleep on my lap with her head on my arm right now. it's so hard to type with your arm pinned to your lap! cats! for being so tiny she has a heavy head, too!
we dropped punkin's dose again this morning. we're at 5.0u now - haven't been there since ... before we came to FDMB. might be too much of a reduction, but i thought that about 6 too. we're all going to be gone mid-day today so we took it down just to be safe.
punkin was started on prozinc in December and the vet switched him to lantus in January. we arrived here 2/20 and in a discussion about syringes on 3/9, Jason (& Belle) figured out that punkin was using a u-100 insulin in a u-40 syringe - that meant that the 3units dose i thought i was giving was actually 7.5units of insulin. Libby & Sienne came on and talked me through the options/pros/cons of what had happened, and we went on from there with the correct syringes and a 7.5u dose.
so to say this is exciting at our house is an understatement! oddly enough, as long as punkin's food shows up he could care less about his dose!
hahahaha i was looking for an image to go with the whole food centered cat - and this isn't it, but i liked it too much to pass up.
