Oh wow! What a crazy low number .. nothing to worry about if you are on an OTJ trial, just was surprised to see one so low .. have a great day guys!!

OOOps - you saw my previous post. Didn't want to cause any confusion with my own questions so I just put the clapping marks for an awesome reading.

Re: 12/10 Bid AMBG 38

Whew...you're OTJ trial...

Maybe drop the OTJ trial in the subject line...

Awesome numbers though.

Did you vet do any bloodwork the other day?

Re: 12/10 Bid AMBG 38

There was one kitty here in LL a couple of years ago that went OTJ and his OTJ numbers were in the 20's and he is still doing well today.

Re: 12/10 Bid AMBG 38

No the Vet didn't do any blood work..

And yes that's true, the Vet's BG would be 58.. And that's what I thought that normal BG's for a non-diabetic cat was between 40-100.. I guess the Vet just made me nervous by saying it's so odd that his BG is so low.. But she also did mention that we don't know what it was before he got diabetes.. so he could have always been on the low side..

This is just AWESOME and it is SO good that you found FDMB, as otherwise.... (well let's just not go there but I'm sure you saw the condo for Lewis, yesterday...)

Happy Day 11 Bid!!!!!
I think I will show your SS to Raja...she likes to be in the high greens and is driving me crazy....these numbers are just normal for you it seems. Looking super fine!

So I just saw the post for Lewis yesterday and really hope he's ok!! I wish she would come back on to update how he's doing! I think we would have been in the same exact boat if I hadn't found this site! Poor guy

Thanks everyone..

Wow -- I can't believe that Bid was only diagnosed a short time ago and is doing so well. It really gives us newbies some encouragement to keep on top of things with our precious kitties. I hope Simon wants to be a copycat and be just like Bid!

Congrats!! Wow that was a quick visit here--We are so happy for you!
Barbara & Tuffy , Tuffy was always in very low numbers & it was just normal for her--She is still OTJ!

Woo hoo!!

what one of my vets told me is that human meters have more error on the low end. They deliberately have it give lower numbers than actual number to make the stoopid human go eat something to raise their blood sugar before it becomes a medical emergency.

So, Bid's number is likely higher than 38, but it doesn't matter! He's had no exogenous insulin in over a week, and no cat ever overdoses on their own pancreas' insulin!!

YAY!!! Three more days til a party!

YAY!!! and congrats on day 11!!! Wow - love that 38 - amazing!
