Had a bad day with Jackson yesterday. Having difficulty concentrating on much more.
Alex has been picky with food(you wouldn't know it to look at him knock wood) but if he likes it, he EATS it! Other than that everything is status quo with him and purry pants are on.

Have a fun FULL MOON CATURDAY everyone! fll_moon

Hi Caryl - it is nice to hear that Alex is doing well, purry pants and all! Be sure and be good and eat your fuds Alex!

I hope things are better today with Jackson.

That's one purrty AMPS!

I would send Alex some tasty Southern specialty to tweak his appetite, but I don't think deep fried anything is on his diet. Instead, sending him eat-up vines.

Sending Jackson vines, snowflakes and healing thoughts. And hugs to you.

Is jackson ill, Caryl?

sorry...I've been a little absent so I fear i missed the info...

sending vines...
and nice blues, Alex!

Yes There is some kind of major problem going on with my boy and we aren't sure what it is. He has all the signs of CHF but no fluid. If you can spare a prayer or a vine or both for him Alex and I would be grateful
xoxo

Thank you from one Jersey Girl to another. We appreciate it!

(Yes Kathy and I are indeed that..absurd and huge Bruce fans...very huge...*sigh*)

Whoa...it defines me, too. There are three things I'm known for loving: cats, beads, and Bruce. Not to hijack Alex's condo, but you do know he is touring next year, right? I'm dying for a concert here...2009 was soooo long ago!!

Well, it's settled. We'll all have to meet at a show. \M/

I have only heard Europe dates. Do you know something I don't know??

Signed,

Absurdly huge Bruce fan  aka Kathy

I've only seen May through July in Europe. My GUESS is that he'll start in NY/NJ area maybe Phil for my birthday  ...go to Europe and then finish in the US again. I could be wrong but it FEELS right. Actually I saw This in Rolling Stone last month so it's a very educated guess....http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... m-20111121

I've only heard European dates so far, too, but have been checking all my "sources" on a daily basis  ! I agree Caryl...I'm sure we'll see some US dates before his summer across the pond, and some after.

Heck yeah - we GOTTA meet at a show! I don't think I slept the night they announced this tour....

Yeah it's time...for a while with the sadness surrounding Clarence's death I didn't think I cared and couldn't figure out how Bruce was going to do so many songs without him.... but now I realize that life goes on and I'm going through "Bruce Show" withdrawal again. It's been too long. Last one I was at was the last Wrecking Ball show at the Meadowlands and in spite of the fact that I had to stand for like 13 hours that day (I was number 1001 for the pit and they only let the first 1000 wander away until 6PM. WHAT LUCK)there's nothing better than live Bruce (and my kitties)

I know...the shows will be very different without Clarence, and it's hard to imagine, say, "Jungleland" with someone else on the sax. But, it is great to see the band move forward...it's how Clarence would have wanted it.

I was at the Meadowlands, too, but not in the pit, and not the last show (it was the second show, if I remember correctly). My last show was in the pit at the Spectrum - October 9. He played "Wrecking Ball" there as well, since the Spectrum's days were numbered. I was in the pit for that one...right in front of Clarence. What a show! I have the bootleg, and it is permanently at the the top of the rotation on my iPod.

Yep, I've been going threw withdrawel for quite some time now...

I really wish I had gone to the Meadowland shows. The acoustics indoor here stunk.

You Pit People impress me! I was at the front of the crowd for one memorable show long ago - overcome by heat and crushes of people, I had to be pulled out of the crowd.

That article Caryl posted mentions that Clarence's spot might be filled by his SON, an expert sax player, if there is sax in the new show. That would be the very next best thing. But it will never be the same.

The pit is always my goal...when I'm there, it's as if the rest of the world completley disappears - a little slice of heaven for 3.5 hours. However, hubby's back as been bothering him lately...I'm not sure if I can convince him to go for the pit anymore  ...

I think I'm too old for the pit! :o

But NEVER too old for Bruce.

Bruce song of the day, dedicated to Jackson, Alex, Trixie and Kitty (and all LL kitties):

"The Ties That Bind" We are tied to our kitties!

On my....TOTALLY jealous!!! I have yet to actually meet the man. I have a couple of customers at my store who know him, but have yet to convince them that he needs to come bead shopping  !!!

Through the years I have met him lots of times but really just to say "hey how are ya" and even those times were pretty much planned out. Or I guess I should say we were hopeful as it was usually a place where he was supposed to maybe show up. It happened to me at The "Vote For Change" Concert in NJ when Patti's set was on. Bruce came in to the pit to watch her and he was standing right next to me. I didn't even know because I was thinking about Jackson Browne(That was my 'Heaven on earth"..Bruce and Jackson on the same stage. People actually let me in front of them dead center pit first row when they did "Running on Empty" because they knew what it meant to me. and he really does recognize people that he's seen that often (ie stalkers that are always in the first row..lol). Anyway, some nudged me and I looked over and there HE was ! I said "WOW Patti is great tonight and he smiled and said "ain't she"? Everyone was looking but no one ever crowds Bruce.

The Atlanta thing was REALLY planned out though. It was do or die and the only time it was specifically for photos. Our friend from England who traveled back and forth more often than most people in the US travel was determined to meet him in Atlanta. He always wore a Devils Jersey to the shows with Springsteen 00 02-whatever year it was so he was a visible guy. There were like 8 of us that traveled together and it's a long story but we hooked up with a fan from Atlanta who got us to the back of the arena right after the show ended(it was eerie like something from "Darkness on The Edge of Town)"...and we were INSIDE the gates while like 1000 people were outside. It didn't seem like it was going to happen-the red neck stage guys were saying "they ain't in here, you're wasting your time"- but We stayed for John because it would have been impossible for them to be gone that quickly.. but after about 45 minutes...cars started coming out and the SUV Max was in stopped to talk to John and he actually blew him off. We already had met him and had pics with him. He blew off Max Weinberg  The rest is a little bit of a long story that I won't go into but Bruce's car came out and he waved and went by us and John was running after it and it looked like it wasn't going to happen but.... well you saw the photo. I have pics of me and all of my friends with Bruce and Patti and she had no make up on and her hair was wet and slicked back and she does not look good. But she was so gracious and I will respect that forever. He took the time to talk to each of us and take pictures after a 3 hour concert. Terry had said "THIS IS NOT YOUR NIGHT".. Bruce said "No, I want to do this" None of us slept that night

So that was very cool but the coolest is always the UNPLANNED. One of the girls that was there that night, a good friend of mine, had to take a different flight than the rest of us to Minneapolis in 1999. She had stuff to do with her DH in the afternoon so she go a 7PM flight and got an agent's discount in First class which was all that was left(we are both in the travel industry and back then we could get tickets). She was in her seat and gets a tap on her shoulder "excuse my I have the window seat next to you"..it was Bruce! She thought she was gonna die. She sat next to Bruce all the way from Newark to Minneapolis. He asked her what brought her there..friends, family? She said "YOU" and he started laughing but they talked most of the way except when he fell asleep. At the end she asked for his boarding pass(good travel agent) cause no one was going to believe this and he said Terry had it. When the plane landed he did get for her and signed it and also got us front row seats for one of the shows. And THAT is the best story that I EVER heard!!!!

You've got some great stories. The closest I have was when we waited outside the back door of The Tower for Devil's and Dust. They all finally drove out, Bruce pointed directly at us, waved...but then went on his way! I'm determined that I'll just bump into him some day!

One of my customers served on the Asbury Park Council and did a lot of charity work with him; another went to high school with him (her sister's best friend dated him - and broke his heart by breaking up with him!!! She saw him CRY when the girl gave back his ring. Can you imagine????); another lives in the same condo complex as his parents and Patti's mom; and another gave him a ride to the train station when he was just starting out. With all those almost-connections, it HAS to happen sometime, right???

I cannont even imagine sitting on plane next to him...holy moly.....I've always heard such nice things about both him and Patti - very down to earth and friendly.

Now I REALLY can't wait for the tour!!
