Pirate Fitzel's Condo Cove

Looking for any and all IBD experiences - meds, treatment, things that have worked and things that haven't. Symptom progression and subsidence. And anything else anyone wants to add.

The Pirate is still not herself this morning. She did eat breffis and do LB deposits - but she's just 'off'. The kind of thing a Mama Bean can see in their furr. She's not interested in playing - though she will fight with Amma if the baby gets too close to her heating pad. (Amma is now 19 weeks old and almost 4.5 lbs. A very glossy, spunky Cinammon girl)

@ Wendy - Thank you for stopping by. I have read Marje's wonderful Primer on Pancreatitis. It's a wealth of info and it's so sweet of her to put all of it in one place. I really appreciate the IBD info, too. Not being here for awhile, it's hard to catch up on everyone's goings on - so being directed to a specific relevant condo is fantastic.

@ Sienne - Fitzel's been on Fortiflora as an appy stimulant for about a month. I use it when she just pushes her food from side to side in the bowl. Perhaps that's the reason her IBD symptoms have been so mild. Thank you also for the heads up about changing the subject line. As you can see, I took your good advice. I will try to get some night time nadir numbers.

@ Lisa - heating pads and kitties just seems like a natural combo. Thank you for the link to kitty h/p. I'll have to look into those. We've been using FortiFlora for awhile for appy stimulant - it's good to know that it will help with IBD issues as well.

Sending healing vines to all in need - and Congrats to all on the road to OTJ!!!!

Hi Shai,

I'm sorry Fitzel isn't feeling well. What type of IBD does she have? - Diarrhea, constipation, bloating, - can you be specific? IBD is pretty much treated symptomatically, other than things that soothe the stomach like Pepcid and more heavy duty drugs like those used in pancreatitis. For constipation you would probably be best off with Miralax and for diarrhea, fortiflora or pumpkin or an anti-diarrheal. You can give 1/4 AD but it's really horrible tasting so if she's not a good pill taker don't try it. It will make her foam if she holds it in her mouth.

I hope she feels better soon so her numbers can go down.

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci
