Apparently as long as it isn't fish or anything besides Fancy Feast, he'll eat just fine. So now that he's eating well I feel safer with the more aggressive dosing.
His coat already looks and feels better. Its stopped falling out in clumps and is getting soft and silky. He is also getting a lot more social. He's out and about wandering around the house and chatting up a storm.
