Good morning,

Well, here's yesterday's leap into the stratosphere:

Hopefully we are on our way down today. Eddie is fine, though, eating, drinking, grooming but the kittybox action is still iffy. I would post photos but, well, ugh.

One photo that I took last night was of the mixed genre: that is, some "solid" and the rest somewhat gelatinous (possibly because of the Metamucial and the Entero-Aid binding?) and this morning there was only a gelantinous blob. I say "gelantinous" because it's held together somehow rather than being merely liquid.

We go on. Hoping Eddie's on the downlow today.

Have a great Friday, everyone!!

I hope Eddie has a Much calmer day today. That was a wild up and down ride yesterday.
Wishing you solid poops and feeling good for sweet Eddie.
Take care of yourself, Jodey. You're a pillar of strength and a great Mom :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Out of curiosity, what probiotics are you giving Eddie? Psyllium husk fibre should not produce gelatinous results.

Nice to see Eddie going the right direction today.

I'm using S. boulardii
The IM vet wants me to introduce white rice to the mix.
He had a bit of a bounce up at AM +8 but it might be the Dextrose...

I thought you were doing an additional probiotic, something like Visbiome, that actually supplements the flora in the GI system and replaces the unwanted bacteria in his system. If that is the cause of his diarrhea instead of a side effect of cabergoline. Proviable is another probiotic option or even some human probiotics that contain lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. S. boullardi is a yeast, not a bacteria. Has Eddie ever had his B12 levels tested? S. boullardi does not work if B12 levels are low. Per the IBD kitties website, the recommendation if S. boullardi is making the diarrhea worse, is to stop it.

Be prepared for possible increased numbers with rice.

Not all increases in BG numbers are bounces. Could be dextrose, could be insulin starting to wear off, .... Those are not bounces. What we call bounce is a specific mechanism in their body as a result of lower numbers than used to or fast drops.

Well, that's just super about the S.boulardii. :banghead: Which I've now stopped and given him a probiotic with lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. Hope it will be ok, it wasn't in the fridge.

Anyway, I've asked the vet to order the Proviable and hopefully that will be available next week. In the meantime, tonight the Psyillium, the probiotic with lactobacillus and bifidobacterium and I'll wait on the rice for tomorrow.
