This might be one of three things?
1. Still bouncing from yesterday's yellow start?
2. NDW?
3. Kibble intoxication? Last night, i put my other cat's bowl of dry kibble on the kitchen floor so he could have a snack. Usually i stand and watch while he eats and quickly whisk it away when he's finished. But yesterday, Pepper was asleep in another room so I left the kitchen for "just a second" and of course I got distracted and forgot about it. When i finally remembered the bowl I realized Pepper was awake and walking through the house - guilty look on his face? Kibble on his breath? I couldn't tell. And he clammed up and wasn't talking.

GARGH! Try not to beat yourself up too much. If Pepper got into it he'll work through it in no time. Offer him a cigarette and a donut - see if that'll make him confess!

Bummer on the possible contraband! Rhiannon is right, it may be time for other kitty to give up the krack, its much easier if the cats can eat the same food.

I agree, but Freddy is elderly and I hate to make him give up his favorite "crunchies". He eats Fancy Feast too. I'm usually very careful, I just slipped up.
