Yes. Drop the dose because his bg is under 90 but also because of his diminishing appetite.

What a morning! How many cats do you have?

You are not a chatty Kathy. Not by a long shot. So what medications is he getting now? I know cerenia but can’t recall if you ever tried ondansetron. I would add it. Has he had an ultrasound done by a Biatd Certified Radiologist?

I saw yesterday’s post on raw. You can get the meat from the market already ground and use EZ Complete to mix with it.

I feed my girl with allergies Primal frozen venison. Not cheap but no work. My other cat gets Small Batch.

They sell both at Centinela Feed if there’s one near you.

Yes this morning haha!
I have three cats… i love them… but its a lot. One was a neighborhood dump that i took in and he does not mix with the others. Thus the cat fight ;)

thank you for the dose advice. I will be doing token until lando gets his mojo back.

he is only on cerenia, i could broach the ondan topic again with my vet.
An ultrasound? No hmmm also i should ask. What would it be looking for?

i was thinking about pre ground, thanks for that tip! That would give me less of the bummers to not have to ground meat.

work has been good for me lately, so i will take easy over cheap ( especially since i switched to relion!)

thanks again! Xs10

Sorry one update, i did try ondansteron, but my vet would only do injections sooo i didnt give it more than 4 days.

I used the ondansetron pills for Max for years and it really worked. What is the vet’s logic?
Haha omg i have NO idea what the logic is. Ive only just got the go ahead to stockpile cerenia. Ive been a bit afraid to bring lando back to the vet since the stress seems to bring him down after, so ive been continuing with waht works.
Btw generally my vet is great, but definitely overworked and definitely tough to have lots of dialogues

An ultrasound would rule out any other potential causes for the inappetence. Food usually is not the cause for pancreatitis in cats.

Max would go to the vet doing well and often have an episode upon coming home. I think stress definitely is a factor. When Max was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis bothering the cats on,y vet who used an incompetent vet to do ultrasounds and Max’s internist wanted an ultrasound. Due to the first bad one he had two within a week but it was good he did as it avoided unnecessary exploratory surgery. Expertise matters with an ultrasound was what I learned.

Oh! Very good to know ( re expertise ultrasound) FWIW the vet did suggest finding the cause of his inappetence. I think i was so overwhelmed at the timeand felt like i was playing a game of whack a mole, that i didnt follow up. Perhaps i have to readdress that. I know that realistically lando has 4 years left if im lucky, i dont want those 4 years to be in and out of the doctors, i want to make sure he has moments of not being treated.

The only downside to already ground meat is bacteria. You'd want to try to find something vacuum sealed, not the saran wrapped stuff. Actually best if frozen, never thawed
