Yesterday's Condo

Cinco looks like he might be headed for a blue surf today. Of course, since I'm not there, he could be headed for the lagoon! Fortunately, Mark is home and I told him to get a +4-ish, so we'll see. CPC and everything else in order so far today.

I'm at UCDavis and the student has examined Minka and gone off to confer with the clinician. They'll come back and we'll find out where they want to go from here. The student already gave me the song and dance about a prescription renal diet. :YMSIGH: Minka was due for her Mirtz this morning but she ate her breakfast with minimal prompting so I decided to hold off. Didn't want her frantic and starving while she's here. If she doesn't want to eat later I'll give it to her, but as long as she's willing to eat, I'd just as soon skip the meds.

Sasha ate the first half of her breakfast on her own, and I added some Hypo treats to get her to polish off the rest. She even ate an additional snack an hour later (sans treats). :-D

Harvey is back to 100% Harvey - shark routine at meal prep time and all. This morning he climbed up to the back of my big office chair, a normal behavior that has been absent the past week or two. :-D Breakfast and seconds polished off. :-D :-D

I'll post again later when I know more about Minka.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Lisa's DF and Elise's DM. If I missed anyone, I'm sorry - I haven't had time to do a lot of visiting lately. Know that I pray for my entire LLfamily, beans and kitties, every night.

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

Come on down Cinco. A blue surf would be great.

Thinking of you today Tricia. I don't blame you on skipping the meds.

Good job Sasha. We like good appys. Have a great day Tricia!

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

It sounds like everyone is feeling better! Continued prayers for good news with Minka...we'll be watching for an update :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: !

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

I'm so glad that Harvey is 100% and hope whatever was going on never returns. Good bye to that. I hope Minka gets a good report. Eating this morning was a good thing so long as they didn't want to do an US. I'm hoping Cinco decides to stay blue for this cycle. Sounds like Sasha is back to normal as well. Now for a good report and all will be well! I'm praying.

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

Come on Cinco! Keep on sliding down...but not too far!

What great news on Harvey! Hopefully whatever that was won't ever come back!

BOO on the "Prescription diet" speech...If anyone can handle Minka, it's you

Hope they come back with good news and will be watching

Sending lots of good vetty vines your way!

(P.S....December goes fast enough without skipping days....it's only the 1st....LOL)

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

Sending prayers for Minka. I'm glad she ate without the mirtz. It's good to hear Harvey is eating again and Sasha ate pretty well. I hope Cinco keeps surfing.

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

Atta Boy Cinco- surf safely for mamabean! Sending continued prayers and healing vines for Minka, and appetite vines for Sasha and Harvey, although they both sound like they are doing so much better than the last time I read here. Hope you had a nice holiday and an action plan for Minka, hopefully one that doesn't involve prescription food :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 12/02 Cinco AMPS 249 +2.5 188

Thinking about Minka.
You're such an amazing MamaBean, Tricia.
I hope Cinco had a nice blue surf (perhaps some green?) today.

Re: 12/01 Cinco PMPS 215

Thanks for visiting, Melissa, Amy, Elise, Chris, Carla, Ruth and Josie.

Sorry about the date on my subject line. Brain fade.

Sorry also that this is so late. Minka and I just got home in time for t/f/s and then Mark and I were off for bowling.

The news on Minka is only partial. Her bloodwork showed that her phosphorus level was back to normal, and both BUN and Creat had improved, from critically high to just high. The Oncologist, Dr. B, said that means the fluids are helping her a lot. They did do an ultrasound, to help guide the aspirations, but it was late enough that her eating breakfast wasn't a problem. It showed that the left kidney was still enlarged and a little worse than before, and that the right kidney also has some abnormalities - new since the previous scan. They took multiple samples of the left kidney, to give as much info as possible. Dr. B called as we were driving in to say the cytology results were not back yet. They will call me in the morning with the results. They sent me home with two bags of LR (plus tubing and needles) and two refills. She said to keep doing the 100ml a day for now, and everything else I've been doing, as it is helping.

Dr. B was familiar with Sasha and didn't realize I was her Mom, too, at first. She said she shares an office with Dr. S (who has treated Sasha and Cinco), and when my name came up, Dr. S said, "Oh, no! Another one?!". Dr. B was pretty impressed with my preparation and said I'm obviously a very good mother! I just love the people at UCD.

Mark was busy and didn't test Cinco until +7.75  . He was at 97, so I got my green today. Hopefully he behaves until we get home tonight. I loaded Otto up with 8% at +2 an +4.

Thanks for the good wishes on Harvey. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
So we wait now.

Thanks for the good wishes on Harvey. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but maybe the meds are working and it means he just has IBD. Paws crossed.

Minka did not want dinner, so I gave her some Mirtz and left her two different entrees. Sasha polished her dinner off with gusto.

So now we wait. nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile

Umm, that would be a YES!! You are an awesome bean Tricia.

Great news on Harvey, greens for Cinco, and improved b/w numbers for Minka - a pretty good day. Paws crossed the cytology results tomorrow are good ones. :YMHUG:

Re: 12/01 Cinco PMPS 215

You are an AMAZING momma!!!

Sending lots of prayers and good health vines your way that the rest of the results are good ones! Glad to see Harvey is back to his old antics again!

Re: 12/01 Cinco PMPS 215

Linda, you and I were posting at the same time. It's wonderful to hear from you. I hope all is well with you and the legenary Scooter!

Wendy and Molly, you are too kind. Dr. B also said I was a unique pet owner - having so many kitties with cancer at once. She then launched in to a speech about how it was nothing I did wrong, and cats are just like people, getting illnesses when they get old, and it was a testament to my care that they lived long enough to get old age diseases. I appreciated that, but it really wasn't necessary. Although DH and I can't help but wonder why it is that possibly 6 out of 6 cats we've owned all got cancer.....
