11/9 Garland AMPS 260

[Violet and Garland]

I opened a new pen this morning and I had a really hard time drawing it into the syringe. Usually its a pretty fast flow once I pull back the plunger, but this time I actually had to try a few times, and wait forever to get the insulin in the syringe. Is that common?

DH almost got a drop of blood last night when I was teaching him testing, we will try again when he gets home. fingers crossed everyone

Nice start for Garland. Have you tried wrapping Garland in a towel to get her tests? That has worked for some. I know it is stressing you out due to her history. I hope DH can master testing. Hi Violet,
The problem could be that the pressure inside the pen just hasn't been "released" yet. Probably your next draw will be better. Draw the insulin into the syringe very slowly and, if you have to, wait a few seconds if it seems sluggish and then draw a little more. If the problem persists, I would take back the pen for a replacement. In general, I like seeing a slower flow into the syringe because I think it minimizes bubbles.

Hi! Wanted to let y'all know my computer charger isn't working and of course my battery died. I won't be able to buy a new charger until DH gets paid on the 15th. I have a smartphone, so Ill still be around here when I can, reading, etc. But my posts will be short and random LOL it's hard through a phone

and anymore, I always have to "prime" a new lantus pen...
drawing a few "squirt in the sink" doses until it works properly...

I think a couple of other folks mentioned some time back they were experiencing the same thing...
