Question, how do you get your vet to prescribe insulin if you have kinda sorta stopped doing what they say and stuff . . . like not totally ignored them but basically are treating yourself thanks to this place.

When I needed a new script for Lantus, I just called the vet that had seen China only twice (once pre-dental for a check up and then for the dental)

I said I needed a script and gave them the phone number for Marks Marine in Canada....they called it in and that was it.

That's a tricky question. My previous vet for Olive conceded when I showed him ss with results. We would discuss options but left it up to me.

I'm thinking of asking our regular vet. Just day the drive to the specialist is too long (which it is) and we've previously discussed follow ups with them instead.
It's been 4 months with the same vial . . . if I don't see any problem, like discoloration, or loss of effectiveness - when do I get a new one?

It looks like the insulin is still good to me.....it's still getting him into green numbers so it must be OK.

If the numbers start to trend up without any reason, it's time to suspect the insulin.
