Yesterday was a bounce and vetty visit recovery day. There was a dip down to blue at night. She must have stayed there for a while, given this morning's numbers.

11/6 Recap:
AMPS 341 +4 375 +9 470
PMPS 430 +3.5 255 +6 162

There is sun today, for a while anyway, and more promised the next couple of days. Neko did a yard patrol after her first meal and doesn't seem quite so anxious about food. Thank goodness for slightly lower numbers. She was hollering at me from the kitchen about 1/2 before breakfast, but that's because our schedule is late, trying to move back on time after being 25 minute late last night. The kitties are still on daylight savings time for at least 3 more weeks (until our windows get replaced). I dread changing. Before FD, we used to not bother changing the kitty clocks.

Our thoughts are with Dale and Max today, and all the other kitties having operations or vetty visits. Thinking calm and peaceful thoughts to them.

Re: 11/7 Neko AMPS 285

Hi guys .. I'm glad that neko doesn't seem quite so starving for her foods .. that is progress! I hear ya on never thinking twice about DST before FD .. all those little things we used to take for granted .. like sleeping all night! have a great day guys!

Re: 11/7 Neko AMPS 285 +4 346

This was my first DST with Furball. It was not easy to move her schedule. Good luck when you have to adjust Neko's schedule. I hope Neko comes back down for you soon.

Re: 11/7 Neko AMPS 285 +4 346 +7 332 - B/W results

+7 332
Still bounce recovery. If there is any action tonight, I think I'm going to have to get up again later than +6 to see what is happening. I'm clearly missing something.

I got Neko's bloodwork results this afternoon. The summary is: no significant or diagnostic abnormalities. :-D T4 level is within reference. :-D The vet had no concerns when I talked to him about it (not my regular vet but the more senior one there).

Summary of the outliers:
Glucose: 20.1, sigh, I had measured 20.8 just before going to the vet so it's a verification of my meter. The day before she had been in the 9's all day.

Albumin : 36 ref range 23-33, last time was 34.
Lipase: 210 ref range 10-195, last time was 201. The note on the sheet says maybe run a Spec fPL - thoughts? Vet didn't suggest it.
Cholesterol: 7.56 ref range 2.0-6.0, down from 7.89 last time
Calculated Osmolality: 317 ref range 285-314, same as last time.

@Devon - It must be nice for you not having to think about things like FD. Paws crossed here - Mocha's bouncy SS gives me hope.

@Carla - I've done DST switch with Neko before, but not on insulin. The fall back has always been tough, her clock is so precise.

Re: 11/7 Neko AMPS 285 +4 346 +7 332 - B/W results

Lipase is not a reliable value, especially as an indicator of pancreatitis, in cats. I wouldn't worry about the cholesterol.

Albumin is a blood protein. It's not terribly elevated and when it is, it's usually due to dehydration.

Osmolality is a calculation of Sodium, Potassium, Glucose, and Blood Urea Nitrogen ions in the blood. Mild elevations are most often explained by mild dehydration or an elevation in one or more of the above mentioned ions.

Re: 11/7 Neko AMPS 285 +4 346 +7 332 - B/W results

Thanks Sienne. So other than trying to get rid of Neko's bouncing and get her BG numbers down, it sounds like not much to worry about. I do add water to Neko's food and she does drink on her own. She had peed just before going to the vet so might have been a bit dry.

Happy to see there are no new bad issues. No bad news seems to be good news , at least today.
So many troubles it seems as of late.

Hope Neko decides to come down tonite.....

Re: 11/7 Neko AMPS 285 PMPS 300 - B/W results

PMPS 300
Pink day with yellow bookends. The 300 shows as yellow in the World version of the spreadsheet - I like that better. Neko had a good yard patrol before dinner which might have helped the numbers a bit.

@Rhiannon - Yes, no news is good news. Neko informs me that since there is no medical reason for her to have lost a pound, she thinks I am feeding her too little! The PMPS number is good, I think she might head down a bit tonight.

Those are good bloodwork results. Isn't that great the way Sienne explained what the values mean? In regular English so you can understand?

Hi Wendy - so sorry for the late post... another DGS day where it is beyond late by the time have a free moment. I hope your day has been a good one.

Sounds like good BW results for Neko! Mannie usually has those items listed elevated too. I've been told several time snot to worry about them. so I don;t... sorta... ;-)

+3.3 293
Coming down very slowly. Just before this test, she was acting starved, so I was rather surprised to see not much happening. She did get a snack out of it though.

@Liz - I am pretty happy with these results. So far so good on how SRT is impacting Neko. And yes, Sienne does have a way of explaining things that make it so easy to understand. Now why couldn't vets speak that way?

@Michelle - Nice to hear that other cats have similar elevated values. I feel like I'm so focused on numbers now with FD instead of the big picture view, but I'll still worry a bit too.
