I hope someone can help. Kaia cries when I touch her back end. Her hip and the base of her tail. I see no injuries. No swelling. Is this from diabetes?
I will call the vet in the morning but im worried. I just lost my other cat of 16 years on Friday and I'm still devastated over that.

I do n9t see the pain connected to diabetes.
How old is Kaia?
Does she jump a lot>Maybe injury do to a misjump.
Did this suddenly start?

It seems to have started a few days ago. I'd pick her up and she'd cry. Then last night she was laying on her side and I pet her hip and she cried. I did take her to the vet this morning and unfortunately her regular vet wasn't there and I had to see one I greatly dislike! He just told me it's arthritis pain. Ummmm... I don't think so.
I have an issue trusting him because the last time he saw Kaia he told me she was FINE and to take her home. She was having DKA and I almost lost her, thank God I took her elsewhere. He also told my sister her cat was fine, he had a heart issue and she had to put him down that night at an emergency vet.
So.... im praying she just jumped off something and maybe hurt her hip. I do plan on some gabapentin for a few days

Did you try to move her joints around to see if he could find an injury? I hate when there isn’t a good vet available! I’m so glad your cat survived this guy and sorry our sister’s cat passed away. I hope shes’ back to herself soon. :bighug:

Thank you so much!! I just touch the base of her tail on her back and she reacts. I am looking to get some kitty stairs for the couch. I'm just not sure what's wrong with her, it makes me ery nervous... especially after losing my other baby 3 days ago!!

Oops I meant did the vet try to move her joints around! I wouldn’t do that on my own. Good luck, and I can absolutely understand your vigilance!

Yes, he did check her joints. He also checked all down her spine. I've been giving her the pain meds... so far so good. I will keep a close eye on her and make an appointment if she doesn't improve
