 Okay, I am such a bad kitty mom last night and this morning.

So my hubs came home yesterday from work and had won some raffle they had. He got a gift card to Cheesecake Factory (YUM) and said he wanted to take me out since Ive been so stressed lately. My friend came over and watched the kids (they were sleeping LOL) and we went and had dinner and some yummy martinis. Well, i think I had one martini too many, because when I got home, I fell asleep and didnt check Garlands blood sugar like I usually would have. It was 315 at PMPS (we left 5 minutes later).

Then this morning, in my hung over fog,(hubs let me sleep in, thankfully I keep an alarm set for shot times) I totally forgot about daylight savings (all my clocks reset automatically) so I shot her at her normal time according to the clocks, but it was really an hour later in Lantus time.

AND she is a 67 ??? So now Im worried about how low she may have gotten without me knowing. I do remember sleep feeding her in the middle of the night because she was meowing and pawing at me. She seems fine. Nothing abnormal this morning with her behavior.

How awful does all that sound??

my first reaction is stay on top of testing her this morning! she may bounce if she got really low during the night, but if not, then you'll want to be monitoring her.

see what others say.

Re: 11/6 Garland AMPS 67 -oops

Sounds like a 1 hour stall was in order.

I once got so buzzed I could not shoot  (at least I realized it) that was the first and last time that happened!

Don't be too hard on yourself. Lesson learned.

Get your +1 and +2. . .(might be a busy day. . .)

Re: 11/6 Garland AMPS 67 -oops

I agree on keeping a very close eye on her...

but want to say, violet...
don't beat yourself up for getting some time to yourself!
dedicated caregiving is a draining endeavor...
and the last thing you want to have to deal with is exhaustion or despair...
we all must take time to refresh our spirits.

How was the cheesecake? :-D

Thanks for making me feel better. We hadnt gone out in sooooo long. Actually, this was our 2nd date night ever since my 3 year old was born. Who knew my martini tolerance had gotten so low. I only had three. But they were soooo yummy! Cheesecake- I got the raspberry white chocolate swirl!! I saved half for today. YUM YUM YUM!

At least its during the day this time.

I usually drink a few glasses of wine a couple nights a week w hubby without any problems, but wow, i had forgotten how long it had been since i had some martinis.

Re: 11/6 Garland AMPS 67 -oops

you do a lot of caretaking of others, including garland. you need to have some fun sometimes too! fortunately you know how to watch garland and what to do today, so i wouldn't worry too much. i'm betting on a bounce . . .

So you too are human?!? It seems Garland is getting along just find with her bean, human frailties and all! I'm glad you had a chance to unwind and enjoy yourself. Now you are recharged for the next go.

It's all for the good. And look how well Garland did! I remember when people used to talk about the "3 martini lunch": many business people did this every day in the 1950s. Wow!!

It's great that you went out with your DH and had a good time. Celi is right: you have to take some time for yourself to refresh your spirit. That's so important.
Have a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Martinis, cheesecake and a loving husband. What could be better?

Glad you got the op to get out of the house and enjoy yourself.

Good for you for having a good time. You need to do that once in a while, maybe a little more often so your martini tolerance doesn't get so low.  It's funny how these cats can be so fragile sometimes but mostly are very resilient. Looks like a bounce. Hope it clears quickly.

Thanks everyone! You all made me feel so much better. Funny, I used to be a big drinker before I had kids. Never thought I would see the day 3 martinis would make me so tired I would just go to bed like that. lol

I have a wonderful hubby! What a sweetheart. I feel so blessed. It was nice to get out together without the kids. I think we should start doing it more often. But of course, maybe just 2 martinis next time :-D
