How frustrating!

Oh no! Fur shots are the worst. It happens to us all though. She will get back on track soon. :bighug:

Thanks Lori! Thanks Bron!
The fur shot is all CG error. She's been feisty the last couple of injections and last night she actually hit me :blackeye:. I'm sure that the FS this morning was my fear/anxiety and hesitation that another hit was coming. My nerves got the better of me.
DH and I joked about it afterwards that despite being at this FD dance for 10 months, maybe it's time to take a refresher class on shot giving, like taking a defensive driving class every couple of years to lower your car insurance premium :p.

You're not alone! More recently Emma becomes a bit suspicious when I come by with the needle, and when I switched to a new shorter needle just over a week ago I can't feel when it goes in nearly as well!

:P I wonder whether the insulin does anything interesting to cats' fur coats

Oh no. I’ve had to change a bit my shooting style in the last month as he has plumped up and grown his crazy winter coat (he looks like a lion). I’ve only in the past week started giving shots without specifically seeing a break in his fur as creating the break in the fur was getting him angrier than the shot itself. I rewatch videos too, and I have a stuffed toy that is “herman-like” that I practice on when I’m feeling shaken in my technique. Good luck! :bighug:

Seems there are a lot of us on that boat lately… Chewie was so good for the first couple of months, but now that she’s consistently in blue numbers she has a lot of opinions and has become very suspicious of the needle. I also wonder if despite rotating injection sites it just gets more tender and they react more? Either ways it’s nerve racking :(

When I was trying to learn how to give IM injections to Simon I watched a bunch of videos and most of them used stuffed animals to demonstrate ! It didn’t seem like a good sign? But I did eventually figure it out. Hope you have better luck with future shots :bighug:

PMPS :( but expected. Got the shot in, I hope. She jumped up and the needle was bent :( feeling:blackeye::(.
Oh well tomorrow is another day.
Hope she behaves for you tomorrow and you can get back into your groove!
I got hissed at and Chewie almost jerked the syringe out this morning, so I can relate… the discouragement is real.
Take a deep breath, have a nice snack, cuddle with Cleo so she realizes you’re not just Mommy SyringeHands, and like you said tomorrow is another day and a fresh start :bighug:
