Here we go again! I feel like I am chasing these damn numbers. I hope 1.2 was not too much of a jump. I will be mostly around today so I can get data.Love it for you guys to keep watching and tell me whatever you may think. Thanks!
 
Depending on where she ends up tonight [how big of a drop in PSs you may end up with] you might back off to 1 or 1.1u since it is at night [less opportunity to watch & test]. If she is still in the 400's again tonight then I would say to stick with the 1.2u. Unless you are an insomniac, I like upping the dose during the day when there is time to watch and test. The reaction today [at that PS] to that dose seems pretty safe. Just my $0.02 :smile: .

I think there might have been a question of whether rebound was happening the last time you were giving 1.2u. I'm certainly not convinced any happening but maybe others have other input. My thought for the sudden rise at night is a) duration issues - insulin pooping out too early or b) something happening just before testing time that freaks her out (maybe - unlikely - just knowing something is coming lol).
 
Thanks, Gator. I find those tiny doses (1.1) very hard to see. I have tried multiple reading glasses, and it makes the markings on the syringe quite visible, but the differential is so tiny--it's really hard to tell. It seems to come down to whether you bring it to the top of the black rubber thing on the plunger, or the middle. Are there syringes with even smaller gradations?
 
Yours have the 1/2 unit markings?? I hope so.

If so, then the u-40 equivalent of a 0.1u increment is just plop right in between the markings of a unit and a half unit on the u-100 syringes. It's actually the middle from the top of one marking to the top of the adjacent marking. It is the 0.05 unit markings that are difficult. :roll:

Technically it is between the tops [when the needle is pointed skywards] of the markings and even visually it helps me to imagine the point between the tops of the markings. Then just place the tipy-top of the plunger on that imaginary middle point.

I've found that I need good bright light and the appropriate color background - I think white used to work out best. I had this over-the-sink halogen light and the white color background behind my sink that was pretty effective.

My preferred syringes are the GNP ones that can be purchased though Hocks. The link is in the PZI Sicky. If you buy from Hocks, please click on the yellow banner at the top of the forum before every purchase so the board gets a commission.

I have recently tried the Wal-Mart/Reli-On syringes and they have the type of marking I like, but the cap does not come off easily with one hand like the GNP ones. So I still really prefer the GNP ones.
 
Wow she'll keep you on your toes for sure. So I think we are dealing with a duration issue on top of the drop/rise issue. What I think I observe are extended durations when the dose may be a little too high and shortened nadirs when the dose may be just not enough. This might be a spin something that Nancy noted in a general way - that initially when the dose is not enough with ProZinc the nadir happens earlier, then as the dose increases and gets to more where the kitty needs it, the nadir starts happening later.

Can't guess where she'll end up tonight - use your best judgment about dose.
 
BTW cool trick with you SS that you can do is to right click on the cell then click on "insert comment" or do it though the "insert" menu up top. Than you can add comments at a certain test time like "+10.5" or whatever to denote something special happening at that time.
