not too bad considering i dropped punkin's dose last night from 12.25 to 10units. yes, marj, i was playing "dialing for dosage!" and just stabbed at a number. :lol: it might not be high enough, but his numbers will tell me if he needs an increase. for today we stayed with the 10u to let the dose settle in so we can see what it really does.

he's snoozing at my feet on a catnip "bone" - the stem from the last stalk i brought in. so funny that even the stem makes him happy. cat_pet_icon

no plans today - it's another gray drippy day that invites you to stay inside.

wow - on the "who's online" it says "julie & punkin and 21 guests" :shock: it must be the time of year when a bunch of kitters have been diagnosed and everyone is looking for help.

he's SO OBNOXIOUS this morning. he wants that gravy fest from yesterday and he's been nearly intolerable this morning. i say that because he woke me up after i finally fell back asleep on the sofa. not once, but he kept on waking me up. little irritant. he knows i've got the good fud and he wants it.

Nice little breather today and pretty good numbers for a likely bounce and big dose reduction, don't you think? Can't blame him for wanting the good stuff. Good thing he is so adorable. Keep it up, punkin.

Yep, I remember that game. It's part of the "fun" of being an acro bean. :roll:

The catnip bone made me think of the dog we got when I was in 8th grade. My mom gave him a pair of my brother's worn out sneakers because she read that if you give them their own shoe that it is ok to chew on, that they might not chew on other people's shoes. Those shoes were Fritzie's favorite things in the whole world. He always knew where they were, he chewed them and played with them and slept with them. By the time Fritz was an old man doggie, there was only about a 1-inch by 3-inch piece of rubber left, but by golly that was his shoe and he still took good care of it. If you asked him to find shoe he would go get it and be disappointed when it wasn't possible to play tug of war with it. :lol:

:lol: libby! too funny! one time i got a picture of our dog, a black cocker mixed mutt, with our son's binky in his mouth. she was outside and i was inside, so the pic isn't very good, but there she was, a dog in the grass with a blue pacifier in her mouth.

i am nearly insane from punkin's howling. every 15 or 30 seconds he lets out a howl complaining that i haven't given him the gravy. he has been keeping this up since about 11am and it's now after 2pm. he got chicken in the midst of all of it after he was tested, but OHMYGOSH he's not letting up. that only shut him up for about 5 minutes. only 5 hours to go til dinner. grrrr.

maybe i'll go pick some fresh catnip and see if that will make him quiet down.

hahaha patty, if there were any great news i might remember it, but not who it belonged to. maybe you should ask binks!

Hey girl!! Nice flatness for Punkin today!!! For some reason when you reduced him last night, I thought you were worried you hadn't reduced him enuff and he'd come back down.
I'm hoping he'll love his new dose and give you some more greens....come on Punkin!!

I was hoping for dreary today since I can convince myself to nap but if it's sunny (like it is), I feel I ought to be doing something :lol: :lol:

Last night I saw there were 29 guests!!!! I think you might be right.

is this the saddest, most pathetic cat you've ever seen? i just took this. it's all because he wants that gravy from yesterday. i'm positive. he's having a cat-sized tantrum. he didn't like me calling him pathetic, but it wasn't enough to make him stop either.

and now at +8 he's 243. flattish cattish.

Gracie and Tobes are in the office with me and when they heard Punkin's "plaintive wails" their ears perked up like "HEY...is there another cat in here? That meow doesn't belong in this house!".

Very funny! He certainly knows how to ask for what he wants. I think he is a very handsome boy and oh what he has been through.

Hope Morgaine doesn't decide to do that after today's lunch of HC.

Poor poor Punkin. He is such a stunning kitty though. Just beautiful. Funny how they love their gravy and just one little taste can put them over the edge.

haha on all the comments. i only felt sorry for him for the first hour, after that i wanted to kill the sweet little boy! he was SO persistent! and yes, i ended up giving him the catnip and leaving the house to get groceries. anything to escape. when i got home he was snoozing under the coffee table. all that yowling must've been exhausting! :lol:

we'll make up the time difference tomorrow/monday. i can't make him wait tonight.

and while i'm doing dialing for dosages, i think we'll go back up to 11units tonight. nice round numbers are good, right? hopefully THEN i'll let it settle and it will be a good dose. for a couple of days at least.

hahaha you know what i'm thinking about? Linus and the The Great Pumpkin. If you were looking for the most sincere punkin patch - this little orange guy is Mr Sincere. Sincerely wounded. Sincerely starving. Sincerely deprived. ah, who could keep a sincere kitty from having what they want. this is why he is so spoiled.
 
he only got that voice in the past year - i suspect it's courtesy of the acromegaly. i suppose his vocal chords thickened & grew, just like they would on a man.

he used to have a "normal" kitty voice. i noticed the voice change far before i knew he had acro, but after the diabetes started. i don't mind it.

the sincerity and mannerisms, he's always had those. he has quite the personality and is very communicative, as you can tell! that, and he has psychic powers, of course. i always know what he's thinking because he bores messages into my little head! :lol:
