Good Morning LL! And what a wonderful morning it is for us! Ambg 71 and started Muffin off with some rotisserie chicken for her very special day. She is soo excited for the party, and so looking forward to Mannie's wonderful menu choices (especially the shakes and straws!)
Today I'd like to share the beginning of this wonderful life with these wonderful amazing kitties I live with. About 8 years ago, I had 2 cats, Rat Boy and Agent. One day on my way out the door to go to work, I found Agent laying right outside...never mind, I don't want to include the sad part. Suffice it to say that one day Rat Boy (aka Winkie) was left alone and lonely as the only cat. A neighbor across the street had kittens and my DS (who grew up with Winkie - they were the best of best friends) wanted a new friend for him. I finally relented and Sam joined our family. She and Winkie became fast friends. I kept meaning to get her spayed, but with work and raising kids and all, I put it off too long and one day realized our Sam was pregnant (not from Winkie). Then one day the kids came running downstairs shouting something about kittens! Sam had given birth in the bedroom closet and that was the day I met Muffin, Kibby, and Shnookie. All my friends told me I was doomed to a 5 cat household. I swore up and down that NO, I was NOT keeping them, they would all be found new loving homes! One of my good friends advised me "Don't give them names." I thought this was wonderful advice and decided then and there to keep my distance as much as possible and to NOT refer to them as anything other than the black one, etc. Well, 2 days later my kids come running down the stairs again, this time shouting "We named the kittens!" ohmygod_smile Well, needless to say, it was all over then and there as they dragged me upstairs to "introduce" me. It's funny because about a month later, my BF-at-the-time came home saying so-and-so might want to take the black one. To which I respond, "Shnookie? Oh no he won't! NONE of them are going ANYWHERE!" I'm so grateful I put off having Sam spayed, I can't imagine life without these guys.
And, strange as it may sound, I'm grateful, in a way, for Muffin's dx. It really has brought she and I so much closer. I'm also grateful for this board, and every one of it's members. I've become part of an amazing community, a wonderful family, and learned so so very much here. Not just about FD, but about how to make ALL my furbabies happier and healthier and help them to be around for many MANY more years. This day is truly a celebration of an honest TEAM effort between Muffin, myself, and ALL of you, for we certainly wouldn't be here without your amazing knowledge, experience, loving guidance and support, humor and cheerleading.
Now some special thanks:
Ann, Ella, Chris, Ronnie, Krys - You all were among the first people who responded to my first posts, so I thank you for that.
Sienne - You, too, were one of the first to come along and help me get situated both here on the board and just living with FD. I'm grateful for all of your guidance and support, and your tales of Gabby and Gizmo's daily antics.
Libby - I am just one of many who owe you an immense debt. You were there from the beginning, and you've been here every step of the way. We owe a huge chunk of our success to you, my friend. You and Jill are amazing women, so giving of your time and knowledge, and so willing to help all of us day after day after night after night. Muffin and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Pat - Your condos are always a joy to read, thank you. Thank you for your constant support and hosting of so many parties for the kitties.
Michelle - Another great condo owner and antic reporter. Thanks for being here and lending such support to both beans and kitties. And thank Mannie for all the wonderful fuds he makes and all the driving around to pick everyone up and making sure they all get home safe and sound at night. And thank you Stu, for teaching Mannie everything you know!
Celi - as I said in your condo, thank you so much for all the support and laughter. You and Binks have truly livened this place up some!
Marjorie - Thank you for your constant support and encouragement, and for some late night company here on the board!
Roni, Tena, Lisa, Devon, Barb, Dyana, Kathy, Deb - Thank you all for all your visits and kind words and support over the months.
It sounds like I'm saying good-bye, but, trust me, I am not. We will continue to visit here on a regular basis and keep up with all our friends here. Muffin doesn't want to miss out on the goings on! Since this will be our last daily condo, I just wanted to share all this!
THANK YOU LL!!
