Happy Caturday!!! Sending healing vines to our Sweet Muffin and Happy One Year OTJ!!!! Also sending healing vines to Ozzie and Rocket.

Gracie had a lot of hours in healing numbers and probably would have had more except I had to give her 10% instead of 8% because one of us used the last can of 8% without realizing it. We normally only use the 10% if she is booming down like a house on fire. I gave her 6% at +2.5 hoping to bump her up a bit but it didn't do too much and so at +3....which is VERY early in a lev cycle to be at 53 (esp when she should be going up), I gave her some 10% and a little bit of karo. She did come back down and at +7.5, I gave her a tiny bit of 10% again.....I probably should have used the 6% but decision-making in the middle of the night when I am a fog brain is not my forte. At any rate, I'm hoping her +5 today is the extent of her little bounce and she'll come back down. We both went btb for two hours after T/F/S and got in some extra snuggle time.

Wow did we ever get the wind and rain last night!! It got really windy early in the evening and the temp dropped but right after I laid down around midnight, the rain hit with a vengeance and it poured up here at our house for about 5 hours. I can't remember the last time we got that much rain over such a long time period but we needed it. This morning after I got breffis, I ran to the feed store to get more 8% and then when I got home, I cleaned up the patios where the wind had blown stuff almost 15' from the patio edge to the house. Thankfully, all those Sunbrella cushions we bought last summer really shed the water and were almost dry by the time I got out there to clean up a bit.

Mr. Rattlesnake was in absentia this morning so I am hoping he has decided to stay tucked away in his little cubby. I saw that Rosalie and Beth visited our condo late last night. Yes, Rural Metro Fire will come and get them; however, relocating a rattlesnake very far from it's home range will result in its death and as a wildlife biologist...I don't want that. I could have called them and had them relocate it on our property but he would come back to his favorite places. Since he has been a resident on our property for some time, I really didn't want to do anything that would result in his death; we just know to be very careful. He's been pretty chilly the last few days so has been in a bit of a torpor out there. Not that he wouldn't bite if provoked but he was far enough away from the sidewalk and under the shrub that he wouldn't bother anyone if they didn't mess with him.

Off to visit a few condos before a nappus! Have a great day.

Hi Marje!!! Oh, how I've missed visiting Gracie's condo and talking to you!!! Sorry to read about your mom. I know how hard it is to have a mom who isn't well and you can't just pack a bag and go see her. I hope you get to visit with her soon. My parents are determined they're going to make it here for Thanksgiving so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Hope all is well with you, Mike, and the "kids."

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

Oops on the bounce this morning, but you know she will be back down.

I'm glad Mr. R is holed up, maybe last night convinced him winter is on the way. As long as you know he is there all is well. I worry more about the smaller stuff, like Black Widows and scorpions!

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

Marje, I didn't know that about relocating rattlesnakes. I thought they were saving them by doing that and protecting all concerned. Thank you for sharing that. I won't do that again if the occasion arises. Come to think of it, after they removed the snake from my patio, a baby rattle snake showed up and actually got into my living room. It was small enough to slip through the screen door along the side of it. I carefully rolled over to it in my chair and opened the door and out it went but I wondered if it was looking for its mama. I felt really guilty and was really glad Morgaine was not in the room to see the baby snake.

Stay warm and get some rest. I am loving this weather.

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

Hi Marje, that's so interesting about the rattlesnake. Glad he's okay or she!! Hoping Gracie breaks the bounce. Sounds like almost an all nighter with Gracie. Hope your Mom is doing better.

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

I didn't know that about the rattlesnakes either. Always educational in this condo  I hope Gracie's turned around and headed back down by now. The gang has just arrived here, so I'll make sure she's texting you her numbers :-D

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

  snakes???? Wow! I think I'd scream like a little girl if I saw a rattlesnake.

What a great day Gracie had yesterday, I hope she's come back down since her +5.

I hope all is well with you and the fur kids and stay dry!

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

Miss Gracie! Too much of the good stuff huh? At least you know what it is from. Hopefully she has already come down for you. Good info on the snakes. We do have rattlesnakes in the woods. Copperheads are the issue in town. I don't plan on doing any catch and release though.

Wow on the rain. I bet you guys needed it. I love rainy weekend days so I don't feel guilty not doing yard work. Rain moves in here tomorrow. Yay!

Hope you have a wonderful evening!

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

Hi Marje, Gracie, and, of course, Tobey (and Gus, too),( and the Rattlesnake, while we're at it)!

That must have been some rainstorm for your part of the world! Just think if it had been snow! Gracie had quite a night of numbers last night. Now, Gracie, you have to work on having those great streaks during the daytime. Clear that bounce, OK?

Tobes, I love your picture and you are the cutest guy, and so thoughtful. Thank you for coming over to cheer me up and for bringing such a wonderful "cimmamum" cake and chicken soup. Delicious!
Your Auntie Ellabean lubs you very much.

Have a fine evening, guys, and thanks for cheering me up. I missed going to see the Met in HD in the movie theater, but console myself with the fact that in February we are going to the Met itself to see Götterdämmerung (the final opera of Wagner's Ring Cycle) and we were lucky to get the last 2 seats in the balcony (the house is now sold out).

How's your mom doing. Continuing to send her vines.

Ella & Rusty

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

About Mr. R, I know the part about they don't strike unless provoked, I'm just afraid all my screaming would be provoking.

Re: 11/5 Gracie AMPS 100 +5 272

i'm glad that mr rattlesnake is getting a little cold and snuggling in for a while. let's just hope he stays under the shrubs & doesn't sneak in under your front door where it might be warmer.

you weren't crazy about last night, i was worried i might not have dropped the dose far enough. the whole thing's just a guessing game at the moment! but seems like it's working out ok.

hope you had a perfect little nap today and the post-storm sky has been just beautiful! hugs!

Gracie has had some great cycles (anti-jinx). Isn't it nice to have snuggly kitties. I just don't like them to wake me in the middle of the night for scritches.

Snakes, I don't like snakes and we have copperheads, water moccasins and rattlers (pigmy also). I have a black snake (harmless) that suns itself on the patio. He usually slithers off when he hears me approaching. One day, he must have been very toasty because he did not move so I had to use the other door. Big problem here is people get a Boa and then when it gets big, decide to release it.

Have a great night. Good luck with all the retirement paperwork.

Good evening!!!! So Gracie is eeking down; anyone's guess as to whether she'll continue to eek, will get her "lev bump", or will decide to scream down.   Gotta love a girl who keeps it REAL!!

Well I spent a long time visiting condos today when I should have been doing something I know I need to get done but what the heck? Then I made my way to the sofa which looked particularly comfy...had my blankie in tow. Just closed my eyes and TOBEY...climbing all over me..meow meow meow...digging under the covers. It's like he has this thing that he HATES it when I nap! I tried to snuggle him and he jumped up on the top cushion which sent it down on my head. Then he ran in the kitchen and meow meow meow!! I think I might have gotten about 10 mins of a nap in.

Sadly, a close friend of mine in CT who has been undergoing chemo for Stage 1 ovarian cancer called me and she had to help her sweet Scottish Fold cross the bridge today....polycystic kidney disease just like our GA Max had. PKD is the nastiest of nasty diseases. It presents like CKD but once the numbers start going up, you can't get them stable and they just skyrocket. Even several days in the hospital on IV fluids does not bring them down. Her baby was only 10.

Celi: I have no idea where you find these photos but there has not been one that did not send me into gales of laughter!!!

Patty: I know!! ME, TOO!! Glad Champ is having a great day. I know...I need to see my mom. I'm glad your folks are coming for Thanksgiving!!! WOOT!

Ann: I so agree....I don't like the black widows or scorpions either. The chances of having them, esp scorpions, in the house are pretty good. Ick.

Rosalie: Yeah...they don't tell you that about relocating the snakes. Now...a baby rattler in the living room...that would scare the you know what out of me!!! I'm also glad Morgaine didn't see it!

Ann: Yes...pretty much an all nighter...a few winks!! Mom is still the same..... :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH:

Anne: oh yes...very educational    Let's see...tomorrow's topic: quantum physics     Thanks for having Gracie text me her numbers...NO CHOCOLATE ICING for her!

Tracy: you are too funny!! When we lived in AK, no snakes. Kinda nice to not have to watch where you walk!

Melissa: Coming down slowly. Yeah...those copperheads...talk about sneaky. You never know when you will come across one of them in TX and OK if you are in the woods!

Ella: You are too funny!!! Yes it was ALOT of rain for us. So nice. SNOW   Actually we do get it occasionally but not like you. Wouldn't those green cycles during the day be so nice!! Tobey sure loves you too....I'd really love it if you COULD meet him in person! I'm so sorry about the Met in HD but HOW EXCITING about seeing the Met for real!!!! WOW!! Thanks for the wishes for DM. My DS is still with her.

Linda:

Julie: even I would NOT be happy about a rattlesnake in the house. I think it's ALWAYS a guessing game!! Glad PUnkin is doing so well. Lovely day today... sunny but chilly. HUGS to you too!

Din din...leftover Pei wei..YUM!!

I was in some strange mind zone when it happened. I had just had major surgery and was not able to walk so i was in the wheelchair. I was at my computer, back to the door and turned around and saw this baby r snake crawling up the wall by the door. I have no clue what came over me but that spirtual sense of do this now happened and I rolled past the snake, slid the door open and out it went as if a snake charmer called it. I don't think I ever left that door open agan as I didn't trust the screen. Morgaine was busy hiding from the big snake that she hissed at when it was on the patio, hours earlier.

Snakes have a message of transformation, shedding the old skin and it all seemed very symbolic at the time.

Hope you have an easy night. I think I will be up with Ms. M for quite some time.

Hi guys... well, I know I posted here - but alas... that seems to be missing.

Looks like a yellow day for Miss Gracie - a resting day. I hope she gets back to the greens tomorrow! Right Gracie?

Nice on the Rattlesnake... I too don't think I'd move him, it seems like he has his spot, and well sounds like you are careful.

pssstt, marjorie...you might want to check out what websites little man has been visiting...

that pose in Rusty's condo immediately brought this to mind...
the famous "Eat your heart out, Burt Reynolds" Bullwinkle centerfold

Come on up for the PJ party Gracie, yellow numbers are allowed, but no snakes! Grab your flannels and your fleece - all that rain you got last night was snow up here. Just a little shy of 6" at our house. We've got plenty of MC, HC food and treats with honey, don't tell OK? ;-)

Celi:

Anne: sorry!!! Lil Stinka doesn't need any more of those things!!!

Ni Ni all.

with so many new people on, and some of them shooting late, i thought i'd check in one more time before i call it a night! just in case anyone needed help. punkin had a pretty good drop between preshot and +3, so i thought i'd check him at +5 too.
