Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty had a good night until an early-morning bout with his chronic congestion. He ate most of his nighttime food and this morning, so far, the first sitting of breakfast. Last night, at bedtime, he had a great play with his bell balls and some catnip mice. He is at present in his oldest basket next to the radiator (the basket that used to be Stu's and that is held together with string; Rusty hasn't been in it for months!). The weather is dark and dreary, but not as cold as yesterday. Rain is predicted for this afternoon. We had toyed with the idea of going for a paddle, but we would like a better forecast! Tomorrow I'm going hiking with friends regardless of the weather. If the rain holds off, we may get to leaf raking.

WOOT! Nice start for Rusty, hope he is lagoon bound. It is funny how out of the blue they return to sleeping places they haven't used for months. Elsa recently changed hers.

Your weather sounds like our weather.... maybe just not as cold. I hope to get out today too for a woods walk. I have heard that the salmon have started to return to the creek there, sure would be great to see some. Bummer on your paddle, maybe the skies will clear. ;-)

Energetic play after lunch and litterbox: ran around all over the living room, up and down from his perch, played with his bell balls, a paper bag, his Kong Kickeroo toys, and his Xmas rat from last year. Now he's sitting on the paper bag. I'm about to go to do yard work. bbl.

Great report on Rusty, how great he is full of energy despite the dreary weather. Tillie has been enjoying chewing up a paper bag lately too. We hadn't been able to put things like that out for her the past couple of years because Zener would pee on them. We sure miss our guy, four weeks ago today. :sad:

Great OCR! The brisk weather agrees w/Rusty. Tess has recently returned to the top of her cat tree after ignoring all summer. Must get lots of good sunbeams.

Rusty, zoom kitty, play kitty, happy kitty!!!! Yes.

Interesting. Polly has recently taken to sleeping in the cat tree hammock in the office. Blinds are up, good view. And no other critters nearby!

We pull out the down comforters; they swap out entire sleeping places. It works.

Nice, nice Rusy report today. So glad.

Rest day for busy Rusty? He sure has a lot of energy for a kitty that's maybe a year older than Neko. Maybe some lagoon time later?

We had a day of sunny weather, calm waters but rowing is over for the year. :sad: Might have to haul out the kayaks sometime. I hope you still get a paddle in yet this year. Withing you have good hiking weather tomorrow.

Yay for all the playing, Rusty!! It sounds like he had a great time today!

Sorry to hear that he had a bout of congestion last night - I think there are some allergens floating around with the warmer temperatures we are getting this week. I hope it passes soon.

Have fun hiking!! I just love the Adirondacks.

Thanks for visiting, guys. We got stuck watching the depressing election returns. Rusty took a dive after a day of flat blue, but has been eating well, so I'm not going to set an alarm.

Rusty sure took his sweet time getting to the lagoon! I love that he was running around like a young cat! You show 'em Rusty! There's still plenty of get up and go in this old cat! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Sorry your election results were dismal. Here, too. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to vote. We vote by mail, and in CA they only count those if a race is close! So we aren't counted most of the time. I told Mark we need to start going to the polling place. Not that it would make a difference, but it would be nice to be counted.
