11/30 Walter AMPS 405. PMPS 79 +9 56

How are things going ZeldaMay? Are you getting the swing of things now. I hope Walter comes back down today...he's just bouncing from hitting that low yesterday. Congrats on the reduction :)

Has he eaten his dinner yet? If not, try stalling-- don't feed, test again in 30 mins.

The idea here is to try to figure out if he's on the rise or not. The only info we have is that he was dropping and is a lot lower than he was at +3, but he might be on the way up again now.

I wouldn't shoot without that information at this time-- with Lantus, we work down to shooting numbers like that, but you're too close to the take-action number on an AT to do that without more data than you have at this point.

Thank you. I haven’t fed him yet so will test him again at the 30 minute mark ( about 15 minutes from now).

Hmmm... you don't want to stall too long, especially if he's anxious for dinner (hunger can affect the BG readings too!), but if you don't mind getting off-schedule by an hour, you could do one more round to see what he does.

At least he is going up, that's really good. Fingers crossed he'll get to a number you're comfortable shooting soon!

You want to see that Walter's numbers are trending up -- which it looks like they are.

As long as you can stay up to monitor, have lots of strips and high carb food should you need them, it is fine to shoot. (Remember, Lantus onset is at about +2 for most cats so numbers may continue to rise.) However, it looks like yesterday, numbers were rising and then dropped at +3. If you shoot, I would test at +1 and +2 or even more often so youdoo't get caught by surprise by dropping numbers.

Ok— thanks everyone. I’ll shoot (he’s finished eating). I’m home this evening and will monitor throughout.

+9=56– gave Walter tbs HC food— 15 minutes later, BG at 76 —gave FF — still hungry. he’s acting ok Also gave lucotose at +2 (no poop for 2 days) Can’t seem to get rid of that green streak on the spreadsheet and can’t enter any info in it.
