i'm kicking myself for increasing his dose .25 last night - he was only 152 this morning so we shot 1/2 dose of 4units because no one will be here to check on him until somewhere around +5. he may bounce anyway - he was 95 at +4.5 last night and he hasn't been green in a while. i would love that 152 except that no one can monitor him. i should've probably waited to go back to work, but when the opportunity came i wanted to take it.

oh well - punkin's his usual food-demanding self this morning. he circled me while i prepped the test stuff, but today it was along the back of the sofa instead of on the coffee table. he sure is loving getting up on there now that he can again.

Hi Julie, that is a great AMPS, but I see your dilemma with not being home to monitor. I would have done the same thing. Good to see Punkin climbing on the top of the sofa. It sounds like he's feeling good.

Oh gosh, we worry about the same things all the time - trying to sort out when to change doses and if one of us can be home to monitor - and we rarely predict correctly! punkin loves his fuds, so he will likely take care of himself. ;-) How wonderful to see him up to old tricks, he is quite the acrobat kitty!

It's great that Punkin is feeling so good and getting up on his favorite perches again. I hope you can get the dosing figured out. But Punkin will do what he will do!!

Hi Julie: Wow on Punkin's numbers!!!! He liked that dosecrease a little too much but man is he certainly coming down!!!

I went back and watched the videos and could not stop laughing!! What a crackup that Punkin just laid there while Anya jumped over him, crawled on him, tore a hole in the bag.....HYSTERICAL!! And then he gets his revenge
in the second video!!! I LOVE Punkin and Anya videos!! They are so adorable. And you can hear Punkin just purring away!

Sorry I didn't get back to you last night. I would have loved to have included something about high dose kitters in the ppt but (1) I don't know much and (2) I was trying to keep it fairly basic because I knew from prior conversations that
most of it would be new material. It would be easy enough to expand upon.

I thought the quote from JoJo was interesting because when Gracie was on lantus and was on 1.25u, every single time she would "meep" when she got a shot like it did sting. But as soon as the dose came down, no problem and she has never
done that on lev. I've read that several times on the stinging...it's in the lev 101 stuff, too. Perhaps ECID.

Gus was never on the herb you mentioned. He is on liu wei di huang wan for his kidneys.

went back up on punkin's dose tonight to the 8u he had last night. the numbers today sucked (our son ended up being at home) probably from a bounce, likely from 1/2 dose this morning, but also i fed him his usual morning +3 food at +.5 before leaving for work. the son pulled himself out of bed and also fed him again at +3.

good he didn't go low, but wowser. i hate seeing those high numbers.

i also increased the chinese herbs to 3 pills tonight. the vet had said start with 1 BID and work up to 3 BID if he didn't have an upset stomach from it. so 3 pill pockets twice a day - he's good with that! :lol:

i'm beat, so not sure i'm going to make it to condos tonight. these little kids are wearing me out. monday i actually played jump rope with the kids, and did some jumping. hahahaha. that must've been a sight. ohmygod_smile

marj - i figured you were covering enough for a presentation, but was more thinking if you went to the conference, perhaps touching on the high dose conditions would be nice. but if it's too much, that's cool.

Punkin is really doing well! But I had to hold my breath with that 152 this morning and you going to tbp. He did well, certainly better than Tess cat(2)_steam . He is coming down on his required dose really well. About half of his pre treatment amount. You are managing him really well. :mrgreen: ~ John

Loved the videos... especially how poor Anya seemed so deflated when Punkin left the bag. Way to take the joy out of a girl's life. Looking at Herbie, she seems to be a long lost short haired version of Punkin... their colorings are really similar, especially in the face! I'm such a sucker for orange kitties! Being a redhead, I guess I shouldn't be surprised?? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
