Greetings LL!! Missed you all a lot and are finally on the road to recovery after the Hurricane...
We are living in a small apt which is Very warm, but for now it is home..
Moonie loves the heat & has many spots she likes around here..She is doing OK, some days good, some not so good, but she rallies usually during some part of the day on the bad days..
She isnt as strong as she was, jumping up on things is harder, but we have steps for her, and she gets a lot of pampering.. cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon
Her numbers are still pretty good & I keep her from going too low--Feed her whatever she will eat, and sometimes that is FF MC or HC. Today she ate FF T & G after a long snubbing of that flavor ohmygod_smile
Her tastes vary, but I give her chicken & cook her chopped turkey most days for her lunch. She is eating about 2 cans a day(3 oz) some treats, & eats the pill pockets with her meds in it very easily!! :shock:
I am so thankful for that..
She is currently on Cyproheptadine (which has histamine in it), pepcid, and Miralax..This combo seems to be maintaining her for the time being. We are in touch with our regular vet, nand she & I have agreed that if Moonie's QOL should deteriorate any in the future, we will put her on some steroids,even though it will mess with the FD numbers...
We have decided not to submit Moonie to more aspirations, u/s and more medical procedures by the vets..
She has been through enough, being uprooted from her home, stayed in a motel for 23 days, and now another apartment..She was at the ER vet 3 times. We are hoping she will feel secure enough soon and maybe take her to the vet she knows..For now, she is stable & getting lots of LOve..Thanks in part to you, my sweet LL & FDMB friends for your support & Love & donations for us..We hope to be back on our feet really soon--Hugs & Love from us as always--So many newbies again!! Nice blue for Moonie this morning. It is great to hear you are getting somewhat settled and that Moonie is getting lots of love. How could she not? Big huge hugs to you Roni. You have all been through so much and we have been praying daily for life to get back to normal (whatever that is) or at least a new normal. ((((Roni)))) ((((Moonie)))) ((((Brad))))
 
Great to see a Moonie condo! I'm glad Moonie is having good days and getting lots of loving from her beans. What a lucky girl. :-D I totally support your decision to not put her through all those procedures. It's too much. Thinking of you all every day and sending you my best thoughts for dealing with everything.

I'm so glad that you are settling in and Moonie likes the new apt. You are providing her w/ great QOL right now and I know you will for as long as possible. Hugs and scritches to all.
 
(((Roni & sweet Moonie))) so glad to see a Moonie condo and a nice report on all of you settling into the apartment. Her numbers are looking really good. Glad Moonie is finding her favorite heating spots in the apartment. I think you're doing great by Moonie with your decision on her medical treatment. Sending lots of love, healing vines and prayers for all of you.
 
Great to see you posting here again! And to see an update and know you're settling down and getting back to some semblance of a normal life. Pass along some extra pets and pats to Moonie for me.

Glad to see a condo today and things starting to find a pattern in your lives again.
I bet Moonie does like warm places. Sounds like a good apartment for the winter season.
I too know you will give Moonie the best qol you are able.

I'm glad you and Moonie are settling into the new apartment. Nice blue from Moonie. I hope the meds continue to help her feel better. Sending healing prayers and vines.

How great to see a Moonie condo and to hear that she is doing well. I think it is wonderful that she has adjusted to all the changes in your lives. The improvement in her health is testimony that you are doing all the right things for her. Roni, I want to tell you how much I admire the way you and Brad have shouldered all those new responsibilities, have tackled every problem with grace and ingenuity, and have managed to preserve your wonderful outlook on life, even in the darkest moments.

We totally concur with your decision not to put Moonie through additional stressful procedures. Her QOL is the most important thing. Moonie, you take good care of your beans. You are such a lucky kitty.

I am so happy to see a Moonie condo...you guys are in my daily thoughts and prayers!! I'm sure having an apartment is a huge relief over the hotel room, adn before you know it, you'll be back home. I'm glad to hear Moonie is stable and feeling good most of the time...you go girl!!! I'm with you on not doing excessive testing...I've decided to go the same route with my Mario...his happiness comes above everything else!!

It's wonderful to read your post about how well things are going for all of you. Moonie sounds like she's doing great. She's so lucky to have such a great mom! I know you will make her as happy and comfortable for as long as it is possible. I also totally agree with your plan for Moonie.

I'm so glad things are becoming a little more normalized for all of you and the apartment is working out. I hope your house is coming along quickly so you can go back home soon. You've handled things so well. I'm really amazed and proud of you that you can go through all that you have and still keep such a cheery outlook on life. I love your spirit Roni. :smile: Keep on keeping on :smile:

Home is where your heart is Roni. You got to see these expansive & tiny apartments we are living in Hongkong. :lol: :lol: And dont forget Ive 21 cats living together. Moonie is such a lucky girl to have her loving beans.

So very happy to see that Moonie is doing better in the new apartment sending you all lots of support and (((((((((((love and hugs))))))) from us I know we have not been on much lately I have had a lot going on with my Dad nothing compared to you guys but enough that I have not been checking in like I should... :oops:
