Morning ~O) I feel certain I did a fur shot at last night's pm cycle. I could tell by the way I withdrew the needle and no little pop! Haven't done a furry shot in a while, so still not that bad an AMPA. I know we are not supposed to prefill syringes, but is there any harm in prefilling it for 10-15 minutes? All P's in place and I was entertained with a zoom zoom after Maggie did her #2 business this morning. One breffifs down and now napping. I should wake her up for a poke soon, but she's so cute sleeping in her blanket all curled up in a ball that I hate to disturb her.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers for all sick kitties and their Beans and to Jill and DH.

Good morning! Sorry about the fur shot. Not a bad AMPS though considering. It happens. Sometimes I prefill mine for 5-10 minutes or so while I give Tarragon his breathing treatment. I read somewhere that it takes a little of the sting out of the insulin but who knows. Hopefully someone will come along and give some advice.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday Ann!

That's Pretty good for a fur shot!!! I dont wake Moonie up just to poke her unless she is low..
That's why I do a lot of +3.5s and such I let her another 1/2 hr if she is sleeping so soundly--
Hope you have a beautiful Wednnesday--Hugs & Love from us!

Morning Ann! Sorry for the fur shot... but Maggie seems to have recovered quickly enough from it. Hoping for a great cycle for her today. Not too sure on the 15 minute prefill of the syringe, I wouldn't think that 15 minutes would make much difference... just my opinion. and I know on waking them when they are sleeping.... so cute, and who can disturb that?

have a great day, hope you can get out for your walk.

Hi Melissa, I guess I did this shot okay and nice drop. Yes, I start early getting the dose to allow myself enough time to get it right. So then it is pre filled sometimes for 10 or so minutes.

Hi Roni, I agree with the not waking up sometimes. Maggie got up on her own and started eating, so I then tested. Normally she's a slow surf kitty, except for an occasional surprise.

Thanks Michelle on the bg. I'm guessing there's no harm to prefilling it that long since her numbers seem okay.

Maggie is looking good for a fur shot, very nice +3. I've prefilled syringes with no harm to Tray's #s so I think you're fine.
Hope you and Maggie have an amazing day

Looking good, Maggie! Your bean takes such good care of you, you are one lucky kitty. I like to have plenty of time to draw up the dose too and not be rushed. Have a good one!

PMPS 134

Not too bad today and nice recovery from the furry shot! Thanks to everyone responding on the question of 10-15 minutes prefilling time on the syringe when getting it ready to shoot.

Hi Ann & Maggie,
Nice day despite the fur shot last night.
I think that the caution about not prefilling the syringe is mainly for those people who want to fill a syringe so that a pet sitter can give the shot--often hours later. I don't think 10 minutes is going to make any difference.

Enjoy the evening,

Ella & Rusty

  Binks is STILL waking me up and running to the test rug at all hours...
It only took me a day or two to catch on ;-)

what they won't do for treats :-D

Thanks Ella on the cycle and the prefilling of syringes. She's staying very flat today, and it usually takes a few days of flat before there's any action.

Celi, oh that Binkster, it's the treat he misses. I think I'm fooled on occasion, too, when Maggie gets up on her testing sofa and I think she's running low when she just wants that chicken treat. How often do you test now that he's otj.

well...since we had our little relapse, I've been testing him weekly...
I've been diligent about the carbs this time, though

Lovely flat day for Miss Maggie today!! So kind of you to let her nap... I see a sleepin kitty and figure it's an invitation for the "ARE YOU SEEPIN'?!?" poke.    Hope you guys have a great night!
