Normally, J.D. walks freely (all on his own without my guiding him on the leash) from the back bedroom where we stay at my parents house, down the hallway, through the living room, through the kitchen, and to the back door, only in the middle of the night, as he seems timid of walking past my parents or hanging out where my parents are.
Yesterday, once we were all packed and ready to go, J.D. left the bedroom of his own accord, and walked down the hallway, through the living room, and kitchen, and to the back door (to the garage), all by himself, twice. Like he knew he was leaving and was ready to goooo home.
We hit stopped traffic on the way home from the airport last night, so didn't arrive home until almost midnight.
It sure was nice to come home to snow on the ground
This morning, J.D. seemed a little off and so I decided to take him to the vet while I can today, as I have today off (a little weaker and not eating as much even though I gave him some cypro this morning), and my vet so seldom has any open appointments on Saturdays. He did lose a 1/4 pound. I got him some Azodyl. Which I heard is a good for Renal support, and some prescriptions for the Ondansetron and B12. I guess I'll go get those later this afternoon.
I told the vet I wanted to start a B Complex and he said it stings and I don't want J.D. to develop an adversion to injections. He said I should give him like 10 units of B12 mixed? with 5 units of B complex to lighten the sting.
The vet said J.D.'s BUN which was 50 on October 15th could be from the high protein food he eats, and his creatinine was 2.2 so is on the high end of normal, but maybe he doesn't have kidney failure..that was the jist of what I heard.
J.D. ate some of his regular FF, shared some of a FF Appetizer with Ginger, shared a FF Medleys with Ginger, and ate some of Ginger's Temptations treats (for some reason Ginger won't eat any of her treats today which is really odd :? ), and then after the vet he ate some more of his plain old FF.
Maybe he was just extra tired from the trip, we just got back from (I know I am) and the being high all day yesterday (he was 596 at the San Francisco Airport, and went down to 445 when we finally arrived home) and not having any insulin except for a TOR last night.
