11/30: Harry AMPS 326, +6 248, PMPS 447

Hello!

Today and as of last night, we have up'd his dosage to 2 units twice a day. His numbers have been all over the place, which I guess is "normal" in a sense, but still high. . . .
His energy was thru the roof yesterday!!!! He was freaking out, jumping all over his cat house, running around - like he used to before he started losing weight. The water / thirst he gets isn't as bad as it used to be, but he still likes his water. He enjoys going into the bathtub with a fresh wet bottom in it after he's done his foody in the a.m. as well. This happens some days, not all. Off and on. (the shower / bathtub lickings)
Depending on the food, (all friskies now) he either eats most of it or 1/2, which is in response to what flavor we put down. (he's always been picky, likes different kinds every day at least)

So...the days go on into December now and I hope by christmas I'll have a regulated kitty!!

Hi Helena & Harry! :mrgreen: I don't think I have visited your condo yet. I see on your SS that your vet prescribed an increase of .50u and you are now on 2.0u? Is that correct?

We link the previous day's condo with the first post of each day. Will you be able to post Harry's numbers each day with us? We would love to see his progress. So, Maybe you can change your heading to read today's AMPS.

When was Harry diagnosed, Helena? How is he doing? I see that he is on canned foods now...that is great!

Have you read the starred stickies at the top of the page? there is much information for you in them. the "New to the Group" sticky viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18139 talks about a Hypo Kit. this is very important to read and post on your refrigerator. We ask that you have canned food with gravy on hand and karo syrup as well. The High Carb >18% gravy is used alone, without the solids, to bring up the numbers should they go low.
Are you familiar with the Janet & Binky Food chart? viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18139
If you do not have a supply of the HC canned gravy foods now, please select a brand with >18% and always keep them on hand.
I was also wondering if you have syringes with half unit markings....
