Grace is feeling better this morning. AM PS was 142, but she ate food that was left down overnight (with the probiotic in it). Got 0.1u and ate a good breakfast with meds in it. Has already had 1/2 can of FF today - more than she has eaten in entire days lately. Advised owner to withhold food for a few hours to give her tummy and pancreas a break, and to make sure all meds were absorbed and food stayed dpwn before giving more.

Purring, more active, wanted to go out for her morning walk. Much better.

By the way- for those of you wondering about Whiskey, there has been no update since Nov 18 because Tammy's FIL passed away. She has been testing and shooting Whiskey, of course, but just has not had time to get the numbers to me yet.

condolences to tammy on her FIL.

karen, can i ask how it came about that you stepped in to help these folks? not being nosy, i'm just so impressed that you have offered yet another avenue of help to them, and i'm wondering how you guys came together...thru a vet, or shelter? i'm interested because it seems to me that it is something that might be a benefit elsewhere
(don't worry...this isn't a prelude to me asking you to post binks' info for me) :-D

Grace and her bean were actually referrals from Dr. Lisa (our FDMB food guru). They live in an isolated area of the mountains, next to a Buddhist abbey, and don't have a computer. When Grace was Dx'd with FD, Hollis called an old friend in the States, who just happened to have read something about Dr. Lisa and the fact that she does phone consults. On the second phone consult, Dr. Lisa asked her where she lived, and when she told her, Dr Lisa put her in touch with me to take over. Three hours away is a lot closer than 8000 kilometers, opposite coasts, and a different country!

The other cats that I work with (Whiskey, Leo, Holly, Emmy, Shadow, etc.) are all referrals from my own vet.

Everyone needs a hobby, yes?

It is good to read that Grace is feeling better, eating,. etc. Wonderful!

My condolences to Tammy as well.

I am with Celi - It is so great of you to work with these families and their kitties. Just the best.
