Good morning LL!
I'm back from my Thanksgiving vacation, and am happy to report that Emma and the two droolers survived with the petsitter. I actually think they were sorry to see her go...there was a lot of mumbling about lots of treats and no ear pokes. ;-) I actually got home Saturday night, but I've been trying to get over a nasty cold I caught while away. I stayed home all day Sunday and did a curve on the girl. She was pretty flat during the AM cycle, staying all yellow, and then jumped up to the pinks during the PM cycle.
We went to the vet yesterday to have some follow-up bloodwork done. Back in October her ALT came back elevated, and the dr. wanted to recheck it in a month. So, they drew the blood for that along with some blood for the high-dose tests at MSU. I have unfortunately run into a snag with those tests. The doctor can't open an account with MSU because she's part of a big national chain hospital with their own lab, and all the billing is handled by their corporate office. They apparently can't set up any billing for just their hospital, and I think she'd get in trouble for using a lab that isn't their own. She sent me home with the two vials of blood and told me to see if I can send them in myself. She said she could send off the sample for the IGF-1 test to their own lab, but instead of $49 it would be $144! So, I'm waiting to hear back from MSU now - I sent them an email yesterday to see if we could work around this somehow.
Back to the queen - she's doing fine. All P's were accounted for yesterday, and I saw a couple before I left this morning too. She got a dosecrease to 8.0U Saturday night. I saw some blues yesterday, but we're back to yellow this morning. She may have been eating too close to shot time today though. I need to get back to using the timed feeder. I didn't want the petsitter to have to worry about that, so she was just free-feeding while I was gone and I haven't started using the feeder again yet.
Hope everyone is well today! I saw the exciting news about Rusty finally getting to his new home with Ella and Edward. Such a great story!
I'll be by to visit condos later....
