Happy Sunday -

I have missed being here like usual - I am so happy Luna is continuing to improve. And very happy Amethyst is back home after her big scare. I hope Luci is excited to get to warm weather for her recovery. Prayers for everybody's kitties - I hate to mention a few, because I would never want to miss anyone.

The last few days haven't been normal, and now I need to go visit my poor dad. He fell on his porch and is extremely sore, and it's been too long since I went to visit anyway. I've been putting Tina before him. Plus Sundays are special to my dad, and me too. I've been using Tina's needs as some way to deny his state of dementia. Of course, I'll be racing home later to see my cat:cat:

Tina is doing well . . . I hope! We are waiting on blood test results due tomorrow (kidney, thyroid). Her BG numbers have risen a little bit, staying pretty flat, but I'm also feeding her a little more. She's lost over a pound and is extra hungry. She's up and around more than usual, sometimes just wanting more food, or just up more because she feels more energetic. Loving her outdoor enclosure. One day at a time - and today, I'll try not to worry. I said try!!

I know how difficult it is to watch someone you love go through dementia. I can only imagine how it feels when it’s a parent. I hope you have a nice Sunday with your dad regardless and that it’s a good day for both of you.

Tina is so good. I think she’ll be fine on her own while you spend time with your family :D And I’m glad you’re doing a blood test. I also think knowledge is power and whatever the results, you got this!!! We’re always here to help too :bighug::bighug::bighug:

So sorry to hear your dad fell and is feeling sore, Jan. I hope you have a lovely day with him.
I know what you mean about "using" Tina's needs as sort of avoidance... I definitely catch myself doing that with Figaro sometimes. It's hard occasionally to remind ourselves that others can use our help too... and that can be a good reminder that our kitties are also just fine on their own for a while, much of the time :)
I actually make a point to give Figaro "alone time" every day, even on the weekends. I notice he gets slightly annoyed if I am around for the entire day :p

Hi Tina! I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad’s fall. Yes, dealing with dementia is trying for sure. At least I have the luxury of my mom being with me which is easier in some respect . I can’t believe I said luxury! But you know what I mean.

Good luck with the lab work. If she is losing weight and hungry all the time , it could very well be hyperthyroidism.

I understand you so much, Jan. :bighug: I'm going through the same thing with my uncle; this is not easy to live!!! I hope your dad is not in too much pain and you both enjoy your Sunday together!
For sure, Tina will spend a beautiful day alone, hardly any poking !! :p Let's hope for good tests results!

I'm happy you're getting a chance to see loved ones! It's important for us all to spend some time with family. I hope your visit went well Jan.:bighug:
Tina, you be good for momma! She loves you dearly. Moey is paying close attention to your fancy moves!:)

This was very touching Crista. It gave me a good head start since I read it before I left! I'm very glad I went out and saw how badly he was hurt, and Tina didn't suffer at all;) He is hurting, but has refused any emergency or quick care. Tough old guy is going to doctor tomorrow.
Knowledge is power, and you are exactly right about support right here, thank you, and hug Ming:cat::bighug: Tina has the signs of getting good news on the blood tests, mostly because she is more active and catty.

Sorry about your dad’s fall. Hope he’s just sore and didn’t really injure himself. I hope you had a nice day with him today. Prayers for quick healing for your dad and good blood test results for Tina! She’s looking really good and more active is always good!

I’m so very sorry about your dad, :bighug::bighug:

How would you feel about adding 0.1u to Tina’s dose if you can be there to test?

The other option is to switch to a human meter. Because we can’t convert AT numbers to human meter numbers, it’s possible Tina is more green. Look at LT’s SS and the difference in his numbers when Suzanne switched meters.

Sorry to just be reading this about your dad. I hope your visit brightened your father's day and that his doctor's visit today goes well. Wishing him a speedy recovery and no problems from the fall.
