Hi everyone,
Thought it was a good time for a little Putty update.
First I would like to say that I am thinking of everyone that has been hit hard by hurricane Sandy. I am in MA and we had a lot of power outages, downed trees and wires, flooding with a lot of rain and damaging wind. Some people had been without power all week but that is nothing in comparison to the devastation that New York, New Jersey and some other east coasts states have had to endure. My heart goes out to anyone that has been affected by this powerful storm. I hope everyone is safe.
Now for the Putster.....whoever said we gain an hour of sleep when we turn the clocks back did not have an diabetic cat. Putty usually gets his shot at 5:45 am and 5:45 pm. We have been adjusting by 15 minute increments but each day has not been easy for Putty or should I say for Putty's stomach that lives by the clock. This morning was the worst.
5:44 am.....Putty wakes up and looks around, walks around the bed looking at DH since he usually does the morning routine during the week and we each take a morning on the weekends. No response from DH....Putty comes very close to my face and just stares as I try very hard not to breathe. He walks up and down me very slowly (he weighs 13.5 lbs) which feels like 100 lbs. No response.....he then jumps up and down on a bag on a chair in the bedroom.....no response....jumps up and down for about another 5 minutes. He jumps up on a small dresser and knocks off cell phone, some change, and whatever else he can find. Nothing.....he jumps on my nightstand...knocks of ring, a bracelet and the tissue box. I think I heard him say...."what is wrong with you people." Since he is not getting so much as a look he takes out the big guns.....slams the bedroom door...nothing...slams the bathroom door. It is now 6:10. I get up very quickly to open the bathroom door and jump back into bed. Putty then decides to come back into bed and lie down on my legs for about 20 minutes. At 6:30 he starts the process over again which by that time I cave. Only another 5 more months of this.....grrr.
Other than that he is still my very sweet Polite Officer Putty. His numbers have been pretty good lately....he has had many days and nights where he is in the 50's most of the day with a very minimal bounce except for one day when he went lower than 50 and bounced to 425...ouch. His dose has pretty much stayed the same at a fat 1.0 unit. Don't bother to look at my ss.....it is a mess. I don't know what I did but I cannot seem to fix it. I do like having an up to date ss so I will somehow figure it out or start a new page very soon.
He had his annual check-up in August and he is very healthy. His appetite is still very good as it has always been. He was 9 years old in June but still likes to play like a kitten which I am very grateful for.
So.....I hope everyone in LL is doing well. I do look in every now and then when I have time. A lot of new names and some oldies but goodies that are so good to still post and help out.
I miss you guys. :YMHUG:
