I don't have a ton of experience but I've seen it said before that feeding after a certain point in the cycle can disrupt it and kind of make it peter out early. So maybe it's not that the snack itself's carbs caused the higher PS but that it shortened the insulin action, making him increase earlier (if that makes sense).

Ohh sorry, I should have clarified. I meant a smaller snack than usual. I usually give him around 10-15g as a +9 snack, but today he's being picky and only ate 5g of that.
