He ate up all of his food overnight!

I remember hearing that taking ab's can affect their BG levels - does anyone know how long it takes them to go back to *normal* after stopping the ab's? Morris had his last dose of ab's on Sunday night.

I have the day off work on Thursday, so I will be able to get some more mid-cycle checks in. Morris also gets to go see vetty bean Thurs afternoon for his post-op check. She also wants to check his BP when we first arrive (before vet stress sinks in) as his BP was high prior to his surgery, but was quite fine during the surgery.

He may need to be put on meds for BP - anyone here have experience with that? :?: This could be a result of his skipping a heartbeat about once per minute & possible cardiomyopathy that was suggested on his ECG (although his chest x-ray was normal).

Re: 11/29 Morris AMPS 495 - med question

ABs do not effect BG levels (unless you are using an oral form and the liquid has a sugar syrup base). Infection/inflammation can cause BG levels to rise. The ABs, as they are treating an infection, can cause BG numbers to drop, often quite suddenly.

I would suggest you post on Health regarding blood pressure medication questions.

He was on a liquid form - I didn't even think to read the label to see if it was in a sugar base or not! Bad me! :o

He only ate 1/2 his food today. I am looking forward to being home on Thurs & getting a better idea of how his numbers are working during the day now that he is done his ab's.
