11/29 Dickens has lost use of hind legs

Can anyone tell me if a cat loses the use of his hind legs, does it ever gets better?

Dickens has been having less and less mobility over the week since he was diagnosed and we began insulin, and today he is not able to get up at all. He tries and his back end just collapses. It is heartbreaking.

Is this the end?
 
It could be neuropathy? An unregulated diabetic will walk on his hocks. Also it could be a potassium issue. I'm afraid he needs to see the Vet. If it's neuropathy once the blood sugar is regulated it should clear up. Also the use of Methylcobalomin( MB12 ) will help with neuropathy...but...consistant lower BG numbers are needed.

My diabetic cat, Andy, was walking on his hocks, but is now back on his toes. :-D As he regulates, the neuropathy should reverse, but i agree that you need to take him to a vet to get him checked.
