So chinas numbers have been high today and am not sure why? I think she is bouncing but dont know why? She didnt eat anything before spot checks. So dont know whats causing it. Could it be her body is getting use to the 1.75u and she needs to go up? Or its just not a low number day for her.

Thanks vickie &China

China is just bouncing today. She got to green yesterday and we don't know exactly how low she got. Bounces can take 6 cycles to resolve, so it's probably a "save a strip" day for you.

I would stick to 1.75U. I see by your SS that you increased to 2.0U. I would go back to 1.75U tomorrow. You may need to do some extra tests tonight.

ETA: remember than Lantus is dosed on how low it can get the cat. Although it's hard, you have to try to ignore those highs, especially if they are the results of bounces.

I agree with Wendy. China may have dropped lower than the 82 and if not, the bounce may simply be a response to being in the greens. China hasn't spent that much time in numbers below 100 so her pancreas and liver are overreacting.

The bounces are no fun especially when she's been doing so well. Sometimes it seems like the pancreas maybe needs a little rest ;-)

I think there is a good chance she got lower than 82 yesterday. That 82 was likely on her way back up. If she got very much lower than her liver is used to, it could have triggered this big bounce.

Remember that you need to be consistent with the dose and don't react to those bounces by increasing. If she, for instance, got into the 50s yesterday, the last thing you would want to do is take the dose up. I agree with Wendy; you should take the dose back down to 1.75u in the morning. Because you changed the dose, her cycle count starts over again. Be vigilant tomorrow because she might clear the bounce and that little bit of insulin even for one cycle might bring her down tomorrow.

Patience, Grasshopper :-D :-D :-D (They always told me this....I was/am so impatient).

Thank you your all right. I guess I am not as patient as I thought. . Thanks again everyone. I just have to quite focusing on the large b numbers, and just know that it will happen and to just relax.

That's quite the drop to that +2 tonight. I'd give her a little food to try slowing her down. You might want to put on a pot of coffee. ~O) ~O) On the up side, she's cleared that bounce in style.

And I think almost all of us suffer from impatience here.

Great job, Vickie, taking her dose back down. She's looking so much better :-D

I agree with Wendy...you probsbly need to slow her down a bit and get some extra tests tonight.
