Good Wednesday morning,

Purrs and sweetness this morning. Appy is ok today. Did I mention she's a bit feisty this morning!?!? I'm thinking I need to get some flea stuff....any preference? Sorry for the short condo...some of the Ps are present: purrs, pee, attacking me = play, tiny bit of preening this morning, no poop yet...she's an afternoon pooper. Hope everyone has a calm, no drama day!

Good morning Deborah! No advice on the flea stuff. We haven't had a flea issue with any cat for about 17 years. Ours are inside cats, and only once did we adopt one with fleas. We've been lucky!

Afternoon pooper - love it! :-) Have a great day!

Hi Deborah,
I'm sure someone will have good information on flea stuff with diabetes. Put a question mark in your subject line and one of the experts will look and give you good advice.
We use Revolution because it's the only one that seems to work well and doesn't make our cats goofy for the first day after application. All our cats are indoor cats, but here in south florida, even when they go on the porch, they get fleas. DON'T get it 'cause we use it. I don't know anything! Wait for one of the experts to answer you
Have a great day

when we bought our current house and moved in, the carpet was infested with fleas (previous owners rented it out to bad tenants who had tons of animals and no idea how to care for them!). We tore up the carpets of course.. but also doused the house with 'Siphotrol'. I hate putting stuff ON the cats, so we did this instead. sprayed the corners particularly well and we did it twice over a three week period (apparently it kills the eggs and breaks the cycle). that was 15 years ago! haven't had a flea since. Stuff smelled a bit icky for the first day but then was not noticeable. Not sure if you can still get it thought.
of course, we have the advantage of having horses, and so our clothes have horse sweat on them (at least the ones downstairs in the mudroom where the cats come in thru the cat flap) and I tend to brush the cats with one of the horse brushes once or twice a year. Fleas HATE HORSE SWEAT. That is why all the people that worked in stables or tended horses during the black plaque survived! Seriously, I'm not making it up. So, if you have friends who have horses, borrow a horse blanket for the cats to sleep in! I'm sure that's why we don't have any issues!

Still, the Siphotrol spray really does work and doesn't hurt the cat at all.(since you don't put it on the cat, but spray the areas where the eggs fall (i.e most carpet surfaces, and the corners of rooms where there is tile/hardwood).

Hi Lisa, Mary & Pip - Thanks for visiting today. Shasta is an indoor cat, too and maybe it's not fleas that she's scratching at...but if not fleas, then I don't know what her deal is!!!! In the past (many years ago), I used Advantage on her, but she HATES that stuff. I've had the house sprayed (last year), but since I rent my house, I cannot do anything about tearing out the carpet. I hate this carpet. :YMSIGH:

Pip, I own a horse, but haven't ridden him in several years (ring bone - lame) and very rarely get to go play with him (to absorb his sweat!) other than to feed. Maybe I should take Shasta out with me and rub her all over Hamlet!!!! Oh wait, I know the answer to that one...I wouldn't live long enough to get her near the horse! lol!

In other news, when I got home tonight, Shasta was a little strange. While she was eating her dinner, "normal" noises were freaking her out...she would jump and scatter run a few steps...very strange behavior. Now she's curled up on the footstool, calm and kitty-like. hmmmm
