YESTERDAY'S CONDO

AMPS 325 YAY NO RED! I worked tonight and fell asleep on the couch for 20 min when I got home before shot time, good thing I set my alarm on my phone. Test time was a nightmare. His ear was pretty red and I think DH must have poked him hard or something last night because it looked like he had a bruise on is ear. I don't know if I want to say anything to him about it because I don't want to discourage him from testing. We'll see how his ear looks during the day. Scrabble did not want his test this morning and was fighting me. I think this was the first time he has ever done that. I finally had to hold him down so I could get one real quick. I may have to move to the other ear for a while. He did not want any part of his shot either. Pretty frustrating morning. Not sure why he was so agitated but he was pretty pissed off that I didn't feed him the minute I got home.

DH got one test in last night @ +4 220 so I don't know if he actually got any blues which I am sure he did since he usually nadir's around +5 or +6. Oh well, just glad he is willing to test at all.
I am exhausted from work and am gonna catch a few hours before his next test. I will visit condo's later. Hope everyone has a good day.

Re: 11/28 SCRABBLE AMPS 325

HI Michelle - I understand about not wanting to say anything to DH that might discourage him. When I am home or leaving and DH does testing, I tend to use Leo's other ear, which is much harder to get blood out of. DH is getting good at it, though, and was telling me the other day how he was able to get a nice drop just on the edge of Leo's ear. Maybe that's a way to do it ... to show him something *you've* figured out, so it's not like you're "correcting" but "sharing." We hand-lancet, and if we quickly poke nearly at the edge, sometimes we get a furr-poke test (haha, like a fur shot because we get no blood) but more often than not, we just catch the edge of his ear and the drop is small and less painful for Leo and less likely to bruise. Good luck!

+4 166
Yay we have blue, got my 3 and a half hours, now I have to stay up and wait to get another test since he is likely to drop some more
I used Scrabble's other ear this morning which is harder to bleed and he still was agitated. I feel bad.

Re: 11/28 SCRABBLE AMPS 325 +4 166

Morning Michelle, nice blue for Scrabble. Maggie also has a sore spot on her ear, and I had a time last night getting her PMPS. A little Neosporin will help. I can only use one ear, as the other one just won't cooperate or I am all thumbs. Have a great day and hope Scrabble has a nice surf.

+5 207 well since he is up I am gonna leave and get my workout on and give his ears a break. Asked DH about is ear and he said he had a hard time gettting blood last night. Poor Scrabble. I hate to hurt him. Have a great day everyone will visit more condo's when I get back.

Well it's nice to see the blue and that +5 could really be considered a blue too.

I sit w/ Tess in my lap usually and scritch her ear for awhile before testing, it warms the ear, mellows her out and gets her used to the ear being messed w/. Be sure DH puts pressure on the poke spot long enough. Even if I have to poke several times Tess's ears don't get red because i always hold the pad on it for 20 seconds. It makes the poke close up.

Re: 11/28 SCRABBLE PMPS 414

HI Everyone! PMPS 414 Looks like we are bouncing from the blues from today again! I gave his ears a break today since they are a mess, maybe tomorrow when I am off we will see action again. I just woke up from a nap & had a horrible dream about Scrabble I was crying & crying & I couldn't give him his shot & he had a huge lump on his side.
Anyway, off to work, DH in charge tonight. I am sorry that I didn't have much time to visit condo's today. I love you and miss you guys. Hope all kitties and beans have good nights!

Re: 11/28 SCRABBLE PMPS 414

I hope Scrabble clears the bounce soon. At least you got to see some blue today. I can only test one of Furball's ears and sometimes it just looks awful. I use Neosporin and it helps, but sometimes she just needs a poke break for her ear to heal.

Looks like you can relax at work tonight and maybe Scrabble will be over the bounce and ready for action when you are home.
