Of course you can use Sid or Jake! One of my good friends is 94 and lives in a nursing home. I'm not her family or even near her age, but I try to visit her as often as I can (I try to go every week) because her family only rarely sees her. She was my neighbor while I was growing up and we can talk about the "good old days." She and the other ladies perk up so much when I come in to see them. So, I think it is wonderful what you are doing to brighten up the day for these folks.

That's a wonderful idea Celi! Even tho Spot and the crew aren't around much, they would like to participate! If you want photo's just let me know!

Willow woke briefly and said he's in. :)

If you need more zoo members, we have

Civies: Itsy, Penguin, and Cow
Droolers: Cadyn the Stinky Puppy, Kyla, and Barley
and the Feathered Creatures: Squawk Bird, Squeak E. Bird, and Larry

If you need pics of anyone, let me know and I can send.

I'm posting this for all of you...
and suggesting that you NEVER google "cup overflow"

but this is pretty expressive of what you folks give...

What a wonderful idea, Celi! Count us in...let me know if you need pics! I worked as a nurses aide in a nursing home years ago, it's pretty heartbreaking to see how lonely these folks are....many of them have no family nearby, or none that bother to visit, and the holidays are especially hard for them. Bless your heart for brightening their holidays! :-D

If you need a few more names to add to the card, civie Pita and droolers Lucky and Dublin. I won't list the flock of cockatiels individually....we could be here all night!
