Best news of the day - Kibby pooped this morning! It's been nearly a week since he's pooped on his own. I'm sure getting all that pus out has done the trick. He did not spend the night in the bathroom - I was uncomfortable with that, as I couldn't see him. So I slept with my bedroom door shut, for the first time in more than 8 years, and figured I could use Muffin and the other cats wanting in and out of the room as my alarms to check on Kibby. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well. Muffin was in the room for a while, until Kibby got up and wandered around. She got scared of him with that cone on his head, left the room and didn't come back for the rest of the night. But every time Kibby moved, it woke me up. I got up several times to feed him, as he was up on the desk. He seems to be navigating the cat tree stairway quite well. He ate about a can and a half of AD while he was home. I gave his Tramadol last night, and his doxycycline this morning, which he is taking very nicely with the pill pockets. I didn't give him pain meds this morning, because I'm not sure what they're going to give today when they clean his abscess.
So far today, I'm feeling much better. I really need to get to the store for cat food, as I'm down to the stuff that they don't really like. I had only bought enough to get me to Black Friday, when I normally go out and stock up, but I was too sick to go this year. I had to open 4 cans this morning before finding something acceptable to Oscar. It's pouring here this morning, but there's supposed to be a break this afternoon, so I'm waiting for that. Apparently we have a series of 3 storms coming, with high winds and 4-6" of rain expected. Flood warnings are issued, power outages expected, so I better get out while I can.
