Good morning Lantus Land!
Happy Thanksgiving!
September 9, 2013 was a day that changed my life. It was the day that Clyde was diagnosed with diabetes. For the rest of that night and the next day I sat around in a slightly dazed and confused state wondering how on earth I was going to deal with this. My vet said it was possible that he could go into remission but the odds my vet gave me weren’t exactly favorable. That day he was over 500 in the vet's office and now this morning his AMBG was a nice comfortable green 95.
Today is a day that back when he was diagnosed, I didn’t think would ever come and only came through the help of this board. It is on this special day that I want to recognize a number of people who helped me along the way.
Larry and the Kitties – thank you for the warm welcome you gave me to the board in my very first post almost three months ago.
BJM – thank you for the weight loss advice, the ideas to help with the BG testing, and providing the reference chart.
Deb & Wink – thank you for helping me setup a spreadsheet and orienting myself with how the board operates.
Wendy&Tiggy – thank you for providing me with my initial dosing issues with Lantus.
Rhiannon and shadow – thank you for the warm welcome you gave me to lantus land
Wendy&Neko & Sienne and Gabby – thank you for helping me get through the first time I had to shoot low. If I remember correctly his +11 that day was 85 and his PMPS was 131.
Dyana – thank you for helping me figure out to do in the wee hours of the morning when I got a really low AMPS and had to go to work in a couple of hours.
Marje and Gracie – thank you for helping me get through the first time shooting green.
Lovey11, Michelle and Mannie, Chris & China, Tigger’s Friend – thank you for helping me get through a situation where Clyde’s BG was in a hypo range for the first time.
Jamie & Jupiter – thank you for the dosage advice and helping with the hypo range for the first time.
Julie & punkin (ga) – thank you for the dosage advice and helping when I had another day when his BG dropped into the hypo range.
Kim & Twice & PeterDevonMocha – Thank you for the advice on how to handle Mr. Hoover (aka Max) in my attempt to give Clyde mini-meals.
Libby and Lucy, MonetsMom, Josie & Ripley, Ann & Tess, CD and BigMac, Cleo & Jane, and everyone else who gave us support during the OTJ trial.
Everyone else who has helped and given support to me over the last several months that I haven’t mentioned.
Wherever your travels may take you on this Thanksgiving Day, I wish you safe travels and to quote Ralph Waldo Emerson:
And for those who could not be here today, I would raise my glass and toast to absent friends and family.

Of seeing anything that is beautiful.
For beauty is God's handwriting -
A wayside sacrament.
Welcome it in every fair face,
In every fair sky,
In every fair flower,
And thank God for it
As a cup of blessing.”
