yesterday
Morgaine seems very lively this AM. Last night she was hanging out with me all night and we spent some time in the bedroom cuddling, after she pee'd. I have to time those bedroom allowances for the next several days. She is going to be allowed back in there as soon as we get the bed double protected with pee pads and a mattress cover. I have to wait for help to set that all up. Meanwhile, her AMPS was high, 240 but considering that I was using an inaccurate meter, she has been there many times before and only registered a 140 or so on the FS. Just another thing to accept about it all. Hopefully she will come down by +6 and I will give her ears a rest until then.
The vet asked me to check her urine for glucose to be sure my meter was giving me good results. I did that 3 times yesterday, allowing for the hours it takes for bladder to fill and I saw the urine glucose change all day. She was spilling after her AM meal. AMPS was 187 and a few hours later she had a 2 on the urine glucose. Her BG must have climbed after eating to over 200. Then a few hours later she was spilling considerably less and finally went to negative after her insulin kicked in and her BG's registered under 150 for a few hours. I know this is not the most accurate and i certainly won't use it for anything but a general guideline of meter accuracy but she does have a problem spilling glucose and my goal is to eliminate that. It just isn't good for her kidneys.
Hope all of you are enjoying the day and special prayers go out to all who need them and especially to Mike and Jill.
